January 31st - In an article on her official website, JK Rowling warns fans of online scams. February 4th - First rumors of Elizabeth Hurley for Bellatrix Lestrange appear, and crop up several times throughout the year, but are still debunked each time by WB. February 11th - Number of pages in UK edition of Half-Blood Prince revealed. February 17th - Visitor of GOF set report tells MuggleNet only Sirius's head will make an appearance during the fireplace scene, making Gary Oldman fans upset at his minor apperance. February 25th - Bad weather plagues filming of GOF and delays production. March 8th - Half-Blood Prince cover released for American, UK Children, and UK Adult version. March 22nd - Order of the Phoenix filming rumors begin to stir, beginning with talk of filming in the Czech Republic. August 3th - "Delusional" comment made by Emerson during JK Rowling interview causes an absurd amount of chaos amongst shippers. August 8th - Goblet of Fire movie receives a PG-13 rating, surprising fans and intriguing regular movie-goers across the United States. August 8th - MuggleNet's "MuggleCast", the first major Harry Potter podcast, is released and quickly rises to #1 on the iTunes Top Podcasts list. August 14th - JK Rowling's family tree published. August 29th - Theory about R.A.B.'s identity gains weight among Harry Potter online community. September 6th - Portrait of JK Rowling on display at National Portrait Gallery in London. September 7th - Harry Potter special-edition iPod and first-ever digital audiobooks released on iTunes. September 12th - JK Rowling takes on eBay in acting on fake signed copies of Harry Potter books. September 28th - French HBP saves about 6,746 trees using eco-friendly paper. October 4th - Over 300 million copies of Half-Blood Prince sold across the world. October 26th - Canadian band named "The Wyrd Sisters" applies for injunction banning Goblet of Fire movie in Canada. October 28th - The Weasleys' Ford Anglia, used in Chamber of Secrets, is stolen. November 4th - "The Wyrd Sisters" fail to have Goblet of Fire banned in Canada after several court appearances. November 6th - Goblet of Fire World Premiere kicks off in London. November 12th - Pictures begin to appear online from NYC premiere. November 18th - Goblet of Fire is released in the US and UK, receiving positive reviews from critics and fans alike. November 19th - Goblet of Fire grosses $36 million on opening day, and $101 million in opening weekend. December 4th - After three weeks in the box office, Goblet of Fire still continues to hold the #1 spot in the box office. December 6th - A statement by Jim Dale causes fans to falsely assume Harry dies in the 7th book. December 11th - JK Rowling is interviewed by Stephen Fry on BBC Radio 4.
