UPDATED: J.K. Rowling to Auction “The Tales of Beedle the Bard”

Another update was made to J.K. Rowling’s official website today, in which it was announced in the news section not only that Jo had written The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the book of fairy tales mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but also that the seventh of these rare, handwritten items will be auctioned to benefit the charity the Children’s Voice, with a starting price of £30,000.

The book includes the previously heard “The Tale of the Three Brothers” as well as new stories “The Fountain of Fair Fortune,” “The Wizard and the Hopping Pot,” “Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump,” and “The Warlock’s Hairy Heart.”

The auction will take place at Sotheby’s on December 13, 2007.
