UPDATED: J.K. Rowling to Speak at Harvard Commencement Today

UPDATE (4:10 p.m. ET): J.K. Rowling’s speech has concluded! A video and transcript will be online here this evening.

Back in January, we told you about J.K. Rowling speaking at Harvard’s commencement ceremony, and today is the big day!

We also told you the other day that the speech will be streamed live online. It should start at 2:30 p.m. EDT at this link, which is soon. The Harvard Crimson has an article about Jo, who is also receiving an honorary degree today, and her visit:

Comparing Rowling to yesterday’s Class Day speaker, Federal Reserve Chair Ben S. Bernanke ’75, Professor Maria Tatar, who teaches a course on childhood, said she thinks Rowling will deliver ‘a witty, inspiring talk that steers clear of the subprime crisis and gas prices but will still engage with tough, real-world issues.’
