The Hogwarts Express Pulls into the National Railway Museum

According to a local York newspaper the Press, the most famous train in cinematic history, the 1937 GWR 4900 Class 5972 Olton Hall steam locomotive, also known to fans as the “Hogwarts Express,” will be taking its place on display for all to see in the Great Hall of the National Railway Museum (NRM).

The NRM’s “director of fun” is 7-year-old Harry Potter fan Sam Pointon. Sam was appointed by the NRM last summer to ensure the museum’s family-friendly summer activities stay on track.

Of Olton Hall, Sam said, “I really liked seeing Olton Hall in the museum’s South Yard last year, but now I want it to be in the Great Hall where more locomotives are and where I can get up close.”
