Interview: David Yates on the final Potter film and Oscar push

On November 11, the date that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was released on home video, MuggleNet sat down with David Yates, director of the final Potter film, discussing his work on the film and its three predecessors. As we have previously mentioned before, David answered our questions about the Oscar campaign and the forthcoming “Definitive” home video collection.

Today we are pleased to release our full interview with Mr. Yates, in its entirety. Given inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Orlando FL, David also spoke about fan feedback from the rarely-mentioned test screenings held months prior to each of the films’ release, and revealed a scene during the Battle of Hogwarts that the filmmakers really wanted to add to the film but couldn’t.

We would once more speak with David that weekend, on the red carpet during Warner Bros.’ Home Entertainment Celebration event inside the park. You can watch that video at this link.
