New at The Three Broomsticks: The Movie Eight Paradox

The editorials that hpboy13 has written over the past few months have sparked some heated discussion in the Three Broomsticks. So heated, in fact, that many fans are throwing butterbeers around in pure frustration. Some other fans, however, have been receptive to the writer’s controversial views – and we at MuggleNet really enjoy the excellent book conversation going back and forth.

This week, hpboy13 shares his thoughts on the movie franchise, focusing his analysis specifically on Deathly Hallows – Part 2. As you may have guessed, he had some serious trouble with it, but reflecting that he was still emotionally affected by it when he saw the movie, he comes to a rather sullen conclusion:

The reason we all loved the film is because we projected the book onto it. We took all of our emotions from reading the last book – the heartbreak and sorrow, the triumph and joy, the love and hatred for characters – and projected it onto the film. In reality, the film’s story and characters have done nothing to earn such an emotional response from us.

Think the movies deserve a little more credit than hpboy13 gives them? Head over to the Three Broomsticks to talk about this new editorial with the author himself.
