‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ nominated for Independent Spirit Award & People’s Choice Award

The Perks of Being a Wallflower, staring Emma Watson, has just been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature AND a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic Movie!

The movie, which opened in theaters this September in limited release, is based on the book of the same title, by Stephen Chbosky. It tells the story of Charlie – played by Logan Lerman – a teenager starting his freshman year of high school, and the friends he makes along the way. Emma plays Sam, step-sister to Charlie’s first friend in high school, Patrick, who is portrayed by Ezra Miller. The film also stars Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries) and Paul Rudd (Clueless, Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

The Independent Spirit Awards air on February 23 at 10 p.m. EDT, while the People’s Choice Awards air one month before, on January 9.
