With the inventions of E-readers and tablets, the time of the classic bookshelf may soon come to a close. As we await that solemn day, let us celebrate the ever functional furniture staple by naming the books most widely found in households across Britain, as reported by The Sun.
The survey reveals Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as the book most commonly found in homes, followed by The Hobbit and The Bible. Also included were cookbooks by Jamie Oliver, Pride and Prejudice, and The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
In addition, the survey found “that a quarter of people pretend to have read certain books to make themselves sound brainy” and “that only one-in-five plan to re-read books they have already read – clinging on to them because they become part of the furniture.”
Do you have many of these works on your bookshelf? How many of your books do you plan on re-reading?
