Daniel Radcliffe “The Cripple of Inishmaan” rehearsal photos & full cast revealed

Almost exactly a year ago we first announced that Daniel Radcliffe would return to stage in the summer of 2013 in The Cripple of Inishmaan. Today we present some of the first rehearsal photos of the production, by photographer Marc Brenner.

Inishmaan, written by Martin McDonagh (a multi-award winning Irish playwright), will have its first major London revival since its premiere in 1996 when it opens next week.

“I shouldn’t laugh at you Billy … but I will”

Set on the remote island of Inishmaan off the west coast of Ireland, word arrives that a Hollywood film is being made on the neighbouring island of Inishmore. The one person who wants to be in the film more than anybody is young Cripple Billy, if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life. Martin McDonagh’s comic masterpiece examines an ordinary coming of age in extraordinary circumstances and confirms his position as one of the most original Irish voices to emerge in the second half of the twentieth century.

Radcliffe, who plays ‘Cripple Billy’, is joined by Ingrid Craigie, Padraic Delaney (The Tudors), Sarah Greene, Gillian Hanna (Les Miserables), Gary Lilburn, Conor MacNeill, Pat Shortt, and June Watson.

While you’re viewing the gorgeous rehearsal photos ( 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 ), head over to the productions website and purchase some tickets – which are quickly selling out, so don’t hesitate! Inishmaan runs June 8 – August 31 at the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End.

Are you excited to see Dan back on stage?
