Films premiering at Toronto International Film Festival starring “Potter” alumni could be offered on Vimeo on Demand

The recently launched Vimeo on Demand, which allows filmmakers to set their own price for their movies and recently found success launching Some Girl(s), starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, is hoping to make deals with 150 films screening this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The original article at Hollywood Reporter details the offer being extended to TIFF directors:

The offer requires filmmakers to give the Vimeo on Demand platform 30 days for online exclusivity — or until the YouTube competitor recoups a $10,000 advance. After that, Vimeo will offer a 90/10 revenue split in favor of the filmmaker and allow films to pursue traditional distribution channels outside of the 30-day exclusive window.

Although there is no guarantee how many films will accept Vimeo’s offer, there is a high likelihood that fans of Harry Potter will end up happy. No fewer than eleven films involving Potter alums are screening at TIFF, including Tom Felton’s Therese and Belle, Bonnie Wright’s The Sea, and Daniel Radcliffe’s Horns and Kill Your Darlings, among others.
