“Paddington” gets December 2014 release date, produced by “Harry Potter” producer David Heyman

The live action Paddington Bear movie, produced by Harry Potter producer David Heyman, has been given a cinematic release date. Variety reports that the film is set to hit cinemas on December 12, 2014, just in time for Christmas.

Distribution president Erik Lomis said,

The holiday season is the perfect time to bring the humorous adventures of one of the world’s most loveable bears to family audiences everywhere.

The film stars Harry Potter alumni Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn) and Julie Walters (Molly Weasley), as well as Nicole Kidman, Peter Capaldi, and Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington.

Paddington brings the much-loved children’s book series of the same name, which was first published in 1958, to life. It tells the story of the misadventures of an accident-prone bear from Darkest Peru who is found at Paddington station and adopted by an English family.
