The Express Online has posted some interesting behind-the-scenes facts from the Harry Potter movies. Among other facts, they reveal that Bellatrix Lestrange’s look was one of the most expensive on set.
Bellatrix Lestrange – played by Helena Bonham Carter – wore one of the most expensive wigs. All the wigs were made with human hair and knotted strand by strand. The more hair the artists needed to use, the more expensive each wig became. Bellatrix also wore false teeth and fake nails. In between takes, Helena Bonham Carter usually picked off her nails – so the crew found her nails scattered around the set.
The Express Online further says that all tattoos in the movies, including Harry’s scar, were transfers. They reveal that
If Harry appeared in a scene when he was influenced by Voldemort’s presence, the make-up artists redded the tattoo so it would be more prominent.
