WWoHP Hollywood construction update!
With the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Osaka nearing completion and the expansion at Universal Studios Orlando well under way, it’s easy to overlook another Universal Studios park that is currently under construction – the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood!
Although the opening date is probably still a few years away, the blog Theme Park Insider has been keeping a close eye on how construction is coming along. Here’s the most recent information:
- Although there’s not much to see, yet, the construction area has been blocked off, and building is definitely underway. Hopefully within the next few months we’ll start to see structures rise above these walls.
- Theme Park Insider helpfully includes this aerial map of construction. The large area on the right is where the Wizarding World construction is taking place. This view gives a good idea of how the park will be laid out once WWoHP opens!
- Finally, the blog speculates about the date of the park’s opening, projecting that the park may open in spring of 2016. However, they do note that strict California building regulations and tricky terrain could push the date back further. But remember, this is not an official announcement from the park – just an educated guess by Theme Park Insider. We’ll be sure to let you know here at MuggleNet when there’s any official word about the park’s opening date!
