Harry Melling’s play, “Peddling”, to move to New York after premiere in Suffolk

As mentioned in our last casting report, Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley) has written a play titled Peddling, which will premiere at the High Tide Festival in Halesworth, Suffolk, from April 10 to 19. The play will then transfer to the Brits off Broadway festival in New York City, where it will run from April 23 to May 18. Melling will perform solo in the play.

The synopsis for Peddling reads,

“A pedlar boy wakes up in a field, somewhere in London, surrounded by the burnt and empty remnants of the night before. With no memory of how he has come to be there, he knows he must go back to ‘the very start of it all’. His attempts to retrace events from the previous day lead him on a haunting journey where everything comes into question: his life, his world, his future.”

Melling apparently wrote the play based on a childhood experience, when a homeless boy came to his door trying to sell things. He has wondered what happened to him ever since.

Sir Michael Gambon will also attend the High Tide Festival, participating in a series of face to face interviews.

Tickets to Peddling at the High Tide Festival are available here, while tickets to the Brits off Broadway festival will be made available soon.
