Daniel Radcliffe talks Broadway and NFL on “Late Night with Seth Meyers”

Last night, Daniel Radcliffe appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote his play The Cripple of Inishmaan.

During the interview, Dan was asked which was the most difficult of his three Broadway roles:  his physically demanding role in  The Cripple of Inishmaan, dancing and singing in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, or being nude on stage in Equus. Dan answered:

How to Succeed.  The musical, without a doubt.  I had to learn to sing and dance for that.

Dan also admitted that he has become a “secret, or not-so-secret American” because spending time in New York has helped him develop a love of football.  He even plays fantasy football and named his team “Barkevious Mingo’s Mum” because he said that he loves the creative name of the Cleveland Browns’s outside linebacker.  Host Seth Meyers instantly found a connection between the Mingo’s unique name and Dan’s Potter past.

SM:  It does sound like a name that was in Harry Potter.

DR:  It does!  Actually, it sort of does, doesn’t it?

SM:  That’s the next book: Harry Potter and the Barkevius Mingo.
