Jim Dale’s one-man show opens in New York!

We posted last month about a Delaware run of Jim Dale’s new one-man show Just Jim Dale, but now this fascinating show is moving to Off-Broadway in New York City!

Though many of us know Jim Dale from the US versions of the Harry Potter audiobooks, this is hardly his first time on stage! Playbill reveals a bit more about what viewers can expect from the performance:

In ‘Just Jim Dale’, Jim recounts an unequaled lifetime in the theatre and myriad irresistible showbiz tales – from a childhood performing on the British Music Hall stage, through his many Broadway triumphs in ‘Scapino’, ‘Barnum’ and ‘Me and My Girl’, to his uproarious experiences narrating all seven ‘Harry Potter’ audiobooks. Candid and intimate, ‘Just Jim Dale’ is an unforgettable collection of stories from Jim’s breadth of theatrical work and beloved songs, including ‘The Colors of My Life,’ ‘The Lambeth Walk’ and ‘Georgy Girl.’

You can hear Jim’s own thoughts on the show in the video below!

We wonder what Dale has to say about his experiences working on Potter! Just Jim Dale opens tonight and runs through August 10 at the Roundabout Theatre. Tickets are available here.

Are you planning on seeing the show?

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
