Fan Art of the Week: Snape’s Patronus

As many know Severus Snape is the only Death Eater who could produce the Patronus Charm, which happened to show where his true loyalty rested. This fan-submitted drawing, by Rosie, captured Snape’s doe Patronus that was finally revealed to us in Deathly Hallows. Pairing this imagery with “Always” written beside it brings us back to the time when we all first read “The Prince’s Tale” in the final novel or witnessed the Pensieve scene on the big screen. Rosie’s drawing also serves as a reminder that no matter what hardships Snape came across his actions stayed true to his love for Lily until the end.

Staff member’s notes: The expertly placed curved wisps show us the doe is of a magical origin (a Patronus) rather than a living creature. Plus, the shading adds to the element of transparency that comes with spells. By combining both the Patronus and Snape’s famous quote, Rosie clearly showed an understanding of their significance to Snape’s character traits.

If you have a drawing inspired by the series, or any other fan art that you would love to show the rest of the fandom, go ahead and send us your creation(s) to fanart@staff.mugglenet.com. Or see what other fans have produced on the fan art page.
