“Harry Potter” in running for book bench in London’s Books About Town project

The Guardian is hosting a poll on which London-based novel you’d like to see immortalized in a book bench, and Harry Potter is in the running!

The project, hosted by the National Literacy Trust, is aimed at raising funds for literacy-based programs. So far, 50 different benches portraying iconic books and characters from London-related books have popped up throughout the city. The Guardian‘s poll lists such famous titles as Gulliver’s Travels, Neverwhere, and of course, Harry Potter!

The poll closes in one day, and right now Harry Potter is trailing Neverwhere in second place! Head over to the Guardian‘s website to cast your vote now! The winning title will have a special book bench installed in London at the end of August and will be auctioned off in the fall. In the meantime, you can find pictures of the already completed benches here.

Will you be voting for Harry Potter, or did another favorite of yours make the list?
