As we read further into the series, the character development reached the depths that we had always wished for. This was most true for side characters. Half-Blood Prince was where we saw Draco Malfoy’s true nature, a boy who would do anything to save his family. This week’s drawing, done by Kayla, is of the moment we see Draco crying in the bathroom. Rather than sketching a portrait of Tom Felton playing the character, Kayla created her own representation of the character.
Staff member’s notes: The light shading around the neck and shirt area create depth, while the dark shadowing under the eyes truly represents the emotional pain that Draco went through during this scene. It’s always nice to see a fan interpretation of a character rather than a sketching of the actor who plays them.
