How did you become a Harry Potter fan?

My father started reading the first book to me when I was in kindergarten – true, he was no Stephen Fry, but there was something refreshing about the way his Japanese accent worked its way into his Voldemort voice, and I was immediately hooked. Since then, I’ve grown a budding affection for the series (a slight understatement, perhaps) and it has shaped my childhood in a way that nothing else could ever replace it.

What would your Patronus be and why?

I’d like to say a lion or a tiger, but realistically, it would probably end up being a sloth. I’m not entirely sure if I should justify this with an explanation, but in a nutshell, I have an extremely sloth nature and it wouldn’t surprise me if my Patronus turned out to reflect my personality.

What is one theory you had about the books before they finished that you wish had come true?

Where to start … I’ve had a billion theories regarding almost everything that ever happened, but one of my main concerns is Harry’s relationship with Draco. I didn’t need them to end up being together (that would have just been a bonus), but I really believed and wished that Draco would make the right choices, and that he and Harry could have built a heartwarming friendship in the later years.

What was your reaction to the news about Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them?

“Well, it isn’t Potter, but at least it’s something magical.” It was excitement and disappointment in one, but in all honesty, I am really looking forward to it, even if it means Potter will never truly be coming back to us.
