UK release date set for David Heyman’s “Testament of Youth”

The release date for David Heyman’s newest film, Testament of Youth, has just been announced! The film will be released in the UK on January 16, 2015, following the film’s world premiere, which will be at the BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2014. The film is a First World War drama that is based on the memoir of Vera Brittain, a well-known British writer and pacifist.

We previously reported that 30 lucky students from the Young Theatre Company, based at the Acorn Theatre in Worksop, have recently been chosen to appear as extras in the film.

Besides these aspiring actors, the film will also star Miranda Richardson (best known to Potter fans as the bothersome pest Rita Skeeter), Kit Harington (Jon Snow from HBO’s Game of Thrones), Colin Morgan (Merlin from BBC’s Merlin), Hayley Atwell (Agent Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger), Dominic West, and Emily Watson. The film is directed by James Kent and the screenplay written by Juliette Towhidi. David Heyman is set to produce alongside Rosie Alison.
