Magical Christmas for Univeristy of New Mexico’s Children Hospital

It seems as though Christmas will be especially magical this year for children at the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital. New Mexico’s only dedicated children’s hospital reached out to J.K. Rowling for permission to host a Harry Potter-themed Christmas gala.

The hospital will be recreating Hogwarts’s Christmas feast complete with thousands of floating candles, butterbeer, talking Sorting Hats, performers, and walls lined with ten-foot-tall Christmas trees.

In addition, there are opportunities for four sponsors to be Heads of Houses and numerous First Year’s sponsorships. All sponsors will be able to choose whether they will represent Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw and sit at their house’s respective table. Heads of Houses, the highest sponsorship level, will receive ten seats to the gala, be presented a Tri-Wizard award in a ceremony during the gala, and have the ability to deliver gifts to kids of the hospital. The First Year’s sponsorship is the next highest level, which receives four seats to the gala.

There are 504 seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and they’re expected to sell out quickly! All individual ticket holders will be sorted during a special ceremony in which your house will be up to the Sorting Hat!

The gala will take place on December 5, 2014, and the set will be opened to the children of Albuquerque on December 6, 2014. You can check out full details of the event here.
