Emma Watson to speak at UN Women press conference tomorrow

Emma Watson made headlines back in September with her speech at the United Nations announcing the UN’s HeforShe initiative, a presentation for which she has received many accolades.

Now, in a press conference to be held January 23 from 8:00-8:30 a.m. CET (11-11:30 p.m.TONIGHT PST/2-2:30 a.m. EST), Emma Watson will help launch the next step of the HeforShe campaign, an initiative known as IMPACT 10X10X10.

The new campaign IMPACT 10X10X10 is a one-year pilot effort that aims to engage governments, corporations and universities as instruments of change positioned within some of the communities that most need to address deficiencies in women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The event will be livestreamed, and you can watch it right here. You can read the original article here. We’ll have more information for you after Emma’s speech airs in a few hours!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
