MuggleNet Rereads “Harry Potter”

Yes, it’s time to start another reread. Honestly, it is always a good time to start another Harry Potter reread. When was the last time you sat down and read the whole series? Maybe you like to reread the series every year. You might be one of the awesome people who is rereading the series with MuggleNet’s Alohomora! podcast. Or maybe you haven’t reread the series in a long time. No matter how often you read the books, this is the perfect opportunity to join us on another Harry Potter reread.

Let’s go back to Hogwarts!

My childhood consisted of me r-reading the Harry Potter books that were out and watching the movies. I would read the first four and then go back and start them all over. I did this for years, occasionally adding a new book to the rotation. I’m sad to say that this ended after the last book came out, and I started high school. Between balancing schoolwork, extracurriculars, friends, and a job, I had no time to reread the whole series. This got even worse when I entered college. I did get to reread all the books at some point, whenever I had a day to spare, but I have not read them all in order since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out in 2007. That was eight years ago. Eight years! I was just about to start high school, and now I’ve graduated from college. This is a serious problem that needs to be fixed immediately.

I know guys, but I’ll change that soon. I promise!

There are so many differences when you read the books as an adult after reading them so often as a child. I am looking forward to the new things that I will notice. What are some of the things that you’ve noticed while rereading the books as an adult? What do you hope to get out of this reread? Personally, I want to find a greater understanding of some of the characters and their actions. Recently, I have spent a lot of time watching the movies and being surrounded by headcanons on the Internet. I want to find the true version of the characters and not the watered down versions that we got in the movies.

Calmly?

So join some of the MuggleNet staff by rereading the Harry Potter books with us. Need some convincing? Check out this awesome article that we posted last week.  Can’t wait until the Sorcerer’s Stone post goes up on the 21st? Listen to Alohomora! while waiting for the reread to start. Dust off your books and get ready. I’ll see you in three weeks!

Let’s do this thing!
