What’s the Most Frequently Used Spell in “Harry Potter”? Pottermore Presents the Great Wand-O-Graphic!

Have you ever wondered which characters use their wands the most in Harry Potter? Or which spells are the most popular? Pottermore has put together a cool new infographic tracking all kinds of statistics about wand usage in the series!

Their findings include which book has the most wand usage, which book has the highest rate of wand failures, and the overall success of wand usage.

A fascinating, color-coded word cloud of incantations shows the most frequently used spells. The most common incantation appears to be Stupefy, followed by Expelliarmus, Lumos, Accio, and Expecto Patronum.

And unsurprisingly, since the books are from Harry’s perspective, Harry is the character who uses his wand the most. He’s followed by Hermione, Dumbledore, Snape, Ron, Voldemort, and Molly.
