“Strike” Set to Return in 2018

Good news, Strike fans! Following the airing of the second and final part of The Silkworm tonight, Sunday, September 17, BBC has announced that Strike will be returning in 2018. As readers will know, there is another book yet to be adapted, Career of Evil, with the promise from Rowling for many more books (and the fourth one due in 2018). Strike: Career of Evil will air on BBC in 2018 and will feature two 60-minute episodes. Strike: The Cuckoo’s Calling and Strike: The Silkworm have been a huge success for BBC and looks set to continue in 2018.

The first episode of Strike[: T]he Cuckoo’s Calling had a consolidated audience of 7.8m on BBC One with a consolidated series average of 7.4m viewers across all three episodes.

Both Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger will reprise their roles.

Burke will return as Strike in Strike[:] Career of Evil as the war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street.  Though he’s wounded both physically and psychologically, Strike’s unique insight and his background as an SIB investigator prove crucial in unravelling complex cases.
Grainger will also return to play Robin, Strike’s assistant. Though she begins as a temporary secretary, managing Strike’s chaotic life, she soon becomes involved with his caseload and begins to see her true potential.

And good news, US and Canadian viewers! Cinemax has acquired the rights to the show, and hopefully, this means it will begin airing soon.
