Alexa Can Now Test Your “Potter” Knowledge with New Skill

Wondering how to make the best use of your Alexa device this holiday season? Audible and Pottermore may have the answer: Play the all-new Harry Potter Quiz, of course!

In the newly added skill – the only officially licensed Potter one available for the popular Amazon devices – users can earn House points through a variety of Potter-inspired knowledge games. The quiz will feature excerpts from the Jim Dale-narrated audiobooks, and it sounds like far more than a mere trivia game. In addition to traditional questions, users also have the chance to answer riddles or identify mystery objects when given audio clues.

Here’s a little more information from the press release:

With hundreds of questions to answer throughout the year, including hidden bonus quizzes unlocked exclusively for regular players, fans will be able to pick their Hogwarts House and work with other Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws or Slytherins across the world to keep their team at the top of the leader board [sic]. Players can check their [H]ouse’s score in the Alexa companion app and will be able to choose from two difficulty settings – O.W.L. (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) for beginners who’re still sorting their gillyweed from their [g]rindylows, or N.E.W.T. (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests) for smart, Hermione-sharp wizards and witches.

The quiz is hosted by Audie Award-winning actress Laurel Lefkow. You can listen to samples and find out more about the quiz here.
