New Cast Members Announced for J.K. Rowling’s “Strike” Television Series

Last year, it was announced that Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger would return for the television adaptation of Lethal White, which is part of the Cormoran Strike series written by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Fans were very excited and eager for some more news – and as promised, we’ve got some updates.

Deadline confirmed that C.B. Strike will return to the United States cable network Cinemax. Along with this exciting news, the new cast members who will soon grace our screens were also announced. The new stars include Robert Glenister (Live by Night) and Natasha O’Keeffe (Peaky Blinders). Glenister will be portraying the role of Jasper Chiswell, while O’Keeffe will be stepping into the role of Charlotte. Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger will return as the super crime-solving team Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott.

If you’re a bit in the dark as to what this season is all about, it basically follows the story of a troubled young man named Billy (Joseph Quinn from Overlord) who goes to Strike’s office to ask for help in investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child. Billy’s account of events leaves Strike quite unsettled – it doesn’t consist of many concrete details, but something about him and his story seems to be very sincere. Strike and Robin decide to investigate the crime. Robin goes undercover in the House of Commons, while Strike is hired by government minister Jasper Chiswell (Robert Glenister) to start investigating Jimmy Knight (Nick Blood from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), who is blackmailing him and is also Billy’s brother. This is not the only trouble Strike is dealing with – his girlfriend tells him that she loves him just as his complicated (and pregnant) ex, Charlotte (Natasha O’Keeffe), comes back into the picture.

Rowling will executive produce the adaptation, along with Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts. The adaptation was once again written by Tom Edge and produced by Jackie Larkin. Susan Tully will be directing the season, and word has it that filming has already begun.

Although we don’t have a release date just yet, we will let you know as soon as we find out. Just keep your eyes peeled on our page.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
