Dolores Gordon-Smith is from Manchester, England. Despite being called Dolores (!) she is a massive Harry Potter fan and the author of the Jack Haldean traditional British detective stories set in 1920’s England. Her other great literary love is Agatha Christie and the “Golden Age” of mysteries of the 1920s and 1930s and she has long been intrigued by the links between classic detective fiction and Harry Potter.

Trouble Brewing, Jack Haldean’s sixth adventure was published by Severn House in April. Her First World War spy thriller, Frankie’s Letter, is published this September and she has a regular column in the UK’s leading magazine for writers, Writing Magazine.

Dolores is married with five grown–up daughters, all of whom are huge Harry fans.
