Karen Morris is a Distinguished Professor of Business Law at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York where she has taught for 31 years. She is also an elected town judge and the author of two textbooks - New York Cases in Business Law and Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Law. Karen also writes a treatise on New York Criminal Law which is a resource book for lawyers. She pens a blog for Cengage Publishing Company on the law behind the news, and writes a column for Hotel Management Magazine entitled, “Legally Speaking.� She recently published her very favorite work - Law Made Fun through Harry Potter’s Adventures, which won a Texty Award. She has presented at numerous Harry Potter conferences and loves the enthusiasm, creativity and commitment of the fandom. She also writes occasional newspaper commentaries on various legal issues several periodicals. Professor Morris is the recipient of numerous teaching and writing awards, and recently received the Humanitarian Award from her county Bar Association. Her favorite volunteer activity is being a Big Sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program.
