Want to advertise on MuggleNet?

If you are a corporation or individual interested in advertising on MuggleNet, then you've reached the right page. With servers alone, MuggleNet costs over $120,000 per year to run. In order to cover this high cost, we need to have ads that generate substantial revenue.

MuggleNet's demographics and high traffic are an excellent fit for many advertisers. Here's some data we've collected to show why advertising on MuggleNet may be a good fit for you:

  • Average time spent on the site: 14 minutes 41 seconds
  • Average daily unique visitors: 170,000
  • Daily page views: 500,000-750,000
  • Average visitor views 4 pages

Now is the time to advertise...

During the upcoming year and a half, there will be two major events in the Harry Potter world: the release of the fifth Harry Potter movie and probably the release of the seventh and final book.

As evidenced by the release of the sixth book in July and the fourth movie November 2005, these events lead to a significant increase in traffic:

July 2005 (release of Book 6)

  • Average daily unique visitors: 283,000
  • Average daily page views: 1.5 million

On July 15th, the eve of the book's release, MuggleNet received 440,000 unique visitors with over 2 million page views.

November 2005 (release of Movie 4)

  • Average daily unique visitors: 205,000
  • Average daily page views: 931,000

On November 20th, two days after the release of the movie, MuggleNet received 269,000 unique visitors and nearly 1.4 million page views.

Ad formats

We have several ad formats that may be preferable for you:

468x60 banner and 728x90 leaderboard

For banner ads at the top of the page, there are two forms of sponsorship available. One option is main page sponsorship. The ad will be put into rotation along with other ads and placed on the main page only. Another option is sponsorship of all subsequent pages past the main page. Your ad will be placed on all content pages of the site, excluding the main page.

There is also a banner ad that is placed below the second news item on our main page. This space may also be purchased.

120x240 or 120x600 vertical banner

The vertical banner ad is the format that you see to the left below the navigation bar. This type of sponsorship will be for all of the pages on MuggleNet, including the main page.

Rates and costs

The costs of sponsorship will be based on the ad placement. The cost of the ads will be tracked by CPM (cost per 1000 impressions). These prices will be negotiable based on the frequency of the ad's appearance and placement.
