It has been announced that Daniel Radcliffe will star in the crime thriller Tokyo Vice, an adaptation of a memoir by American journalist Jake Adelstein. The Amazon description of Tokyo Vice is:
A riveting true-life tale of newspaper noir and Japanese organized crime from an American investigative journalist.
Jake Adelstein is the only American journalist ever to have been admitted to the insular Tokyo Metropolitan Police Press Club, where for twelve years he covered the dark side of Japan: extortion, murder, human trafficking, fiscal corruption, and of course, the yakuza. But when his final scoop exposed a scandal that reverberated all the way from the neon soaked streets of Tokyo to the polished Halls of the FBI and resulted in a death threat for him and his family, Adelstein decided to step down. Then, he fought back. In Tokyo Vice he delivers an unprecedented look at Japanese culture and searing memoir about his rise from cub reporter to seasoned journalist with a price on his head.
Production on Tokyo Vice will begin in early 2014. Read the original story here.

Daniel Radcliffe is a vlogger! Before you read on, April Fools day was last week, so this isn't another one of our famous gags.
According to Dan's official Google Plus page, he will be posting what he calls a "video diary sharing his strange interests and whatever comes to mind." Keep in mind that this is his only confirmed social media account. Additionally, Dan is highlighting some of his recent work from photo shoots, to posters for his return to stage this summer in 'The Cripple of Innishman.'
The page is a great resource for all his fans and we look forward to seeing many updates to come! (and possibly a few Google Hangouts)
Thanks to Hypable for the initial tip. What are you looking forward to seeing Dan vlog about? Share your thoughts with other readers in the comments!

UPDATE: Video with Dan talking about winning the Empire Award has been added in this post!
Daniel Radcliffe was presented with the Empire Hero gong at this evening's Empire Film Awards for being, in the words of the magazine itself, 'generally pretty ace'.
To present the award was Woman in Black director, James Watkins, who commented that Daniel's "desire to take risks is why I cast him". On collecting his Empire statuette, Radcliffe thanked the magazine for having "always been 'unpatronising' of Potter and myself" as well as acknowledging the directors willing to take a chance on him and see him as something other than Potter.
This wasn't Daniel's only award of the night however, because Woman in Black took home the award for Best Horror, as voted for by the public.
Held annually in London, the Jameson Empire Awards are a celebration of the year's films with the majority of the awards nominated and voted upon by the readers of EMPIRE Magazine. To read a full account of the evening's events, check about the live blog.
Although he has long been considered a hero by the Potter fandom, it is great to see Daniel receiving such awards from the larger film community. Three cheers to Radcliffe!

Speaking with Yahoo! News, Daniel Radcliffe has talked of getting work post-Potter and how 'incredibly proud' he is of having played the boy wizard.
In a recent interview to promote his upcoming return to the London stage in The Cripple of Inishmaan, Radcliffe commented that he felt "like everyone wanted Potter to be more of a handcuff than it actually was." He went on to say "I think Harry Potter is going to be around for a while, a long while, but as long as it doesn't inhibit me getting parts in the present time, then it's fine.
The interview makes reference to the range of projects Daniel has undertaken since completing the film series, noting that they seemed to have been chosen specifically to "wrong-foot anyone seeking to pigeonhole him" but despite making these moves to challenge himself as a performer, he has no plans to forget the films that made him a star in the first place.
"People always say, 'Don't you just want to forget about it?' No! That was my entire adolescence."
The Cripple of Inishmaan will run from 8th June - 31st August at the Noel Coward Theatre, London. Tickets can be purchased here
Let us know how you feel about this latest interview with Daniel in the comments sections below.
