Chris Rankin, the actor who plays Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films, recently gave an interview to New Zealand's TV3. Chris talked about, in particular, what it is like to be a part of the Potter franchise and also mentioned that it is "unlikely" that his character will be in the upcoming Half-Blood Prince movie, although he is still hopeful that he will return for the final installment of the series.

Chris Rankin, the actor who plays Percy Weasley in the Potter series, updated his Twitter just a short time ago. It looks like a big scene for Deathly Hallows will be filmed tomorrow: in the hotel, excited for filming in the morrow, but not excited for the 5am wake-up call... 43 principal cast on set tomorrow...! 43 major cast members on set! Someone start counting all of them. Battle of Hogwarts scene, perhaps? Don't forget, you can follow all the Potter stars by clicking here! Last week we told you that both Matt Lewis and Chris Rankin - the actors who portray Neville Longbottom and Percy Weasley - would be attending the Young Peoples Film Festival in Leeds. The Film festival hosted stars from all over the UK to show various films as well as hold a Harry Potter Marathon of the first 4 movies. While speaking on behalf of the event, Chris was asked about Deathly Hallows: "I finish filming mid-May so there's not long to go. It will be strange and very sad to say goodbye." He also added: "The Hyde Park Picture House is a perfect location because it's like the cinema which time forgot. There's a real sense of magic here, which makes it a great place to watch something magical like Harry Potter."

If you're going to be in France this December, you may want to check out a "Magic Christmas" in Paris from December 18-19, 2010 at La Maison Internationale.

The conference's Facebook page has Tom Felton, Chris Rankin and Matthew Lewis listed to attend, as well as others who have worked on the Harry Potter films. Those who have done French voiceovers for Harry, Ron, Hermione and Dolores Umbridge will also be in attendance.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in sessions with cast and crew, attend an autograph session and photo shoot, play games, enter contests and see a few magic shows. An orchestra will play music from the films throughout the conference. On Saturday night, a Sorcerer's Ball will be held.

If you're interested, check out the conference's Facebook page for full details. Thanks to Amandine!

If you have been to any of the conferences recently held by HPEF, odds are that you have seen Chris Rankin out and about, exploring (and, at times, signing autographs - always with a smile). Well yesterday, HPEF announced that Chris will be returning for their next conference, Ascendio 2012. In addition to his usual Q&A's and signing events, this year Chris (who plays Percy Weasley in the Potter films) has something even more special:

Hugely fascinated by Harry Potter fandom — and welcomed by it — Chris has focused his university thesis on fandom, and is excited to present his work at Ascendio — a Harry Potter actor-special guest first!

Ascendio, the conference, runs from July 12-15th, 2012 at the Universal Orlando resort space (in particular, Loews Portofino Bay resort, Orlando, FL). Not only does MuggleNet have a special referral page just for MuggleNet viewers, but we also have word that another announcement regarding the conference is scheduled to happen tomorrow.

Stay tuned to MuggleNet for the latest on HPEF's latest con. We look very forward to seeing Chris Rankin again, at Ascendio!

Bad news, Harry. I've just been to see Professor McGonagall about the Firebolt. She — er — got a bit shirty with me. Told me I'd got my priorities wrong. Seemed to think I cared more about winning the Cup than I do about you staying alive. Just because I told her I didn't care if it threw you off, as long as you caught the Snitch first.
