The LeakyMug is back and this time it's with the announcement that most of you guys sorta, kinda, totally knew was coming. We'll be doing a live LeakyMug at the Prophecy Harry Potter convention in Toronto, Canada, on August 3rd, 2007! And this one's a pajama party, starting at midnight on Friday night. (So, technically Saturday. Yeah, you're confused, so are we. Don't worry, we'll find each other.)
We've recorded a special LeakyMug to talk about and celebrate this announcement, so click here to get it on iTunes, and click here for a direct download. Enjoy!
EDIT: This podcast was recorded back in early January before we knew the release date for Deathly Hallows. That is why we briefly discuss what we'll do if the book is out. Don't think we forgot!

Back in September, I had the honor of visiting the Order of the Phoenix set with Melissa and John from Leaky. We promised a special Leaky Mug podcast with set reports and cast interviews; those will be available around the movie's release in July. For now, though, we have a special teaser of what's to come - now available in our report on the Leaky Mug feed.

We're proud to announce that MuggleCast won the top prize at the 2006 Podcast Awards last Friday. The Peoples Choice category was awarded to our Harry Potter podcast after receiving over 100,000 votes from listeners and fans. Thanks to everyone who provided their support through the entire voting process, including our friends at PotterCast who we teamed up with! We'll talk more about the win on episode 58 of MuggleCast.
Now begs the question: Where's MuggleCast #57? It was recorded nearly two weeks ago right before our trip to California. Unfortunately, the show didn't go too smoothly. In fact, the audio decided it didn't want to cooperate either. The combination of the two made for a difficult release, especially since we were busy getting ready for the trip. Now we're busy making up a week's worth of school work, so there's no time to fix it.
So, what are we going to do? MuggleCast #57 is going to stay unreleased for a few weeks until we can fix all of its issues. In the mean time, we'll be recording our 58th show this week, and that will be released this Sunday. To make it up to everyone, we promise that #58 will be a doozy of a show. So much so, you might want to have a spare pair of pants standing by. We'll see everyone this Sunday!
In other news, the live Leaky Mug from California is now available for download! Join the MuggleCasters, along with our friends at PotterCast, for some Potter podcasting fun. You can subscribe right here in iTunes or direct download at this link. The show was recorded at the Borders of Westwood in Los Angeles, California on September 28th. Special thanks goes to our audio guy Chris who provided a flawless setup, and Borders for a fantastic job handling the event!

We once again need an idea of how many of you are coming, so please visit LeakyMug.com and follow instructions there to let us know you plan to be there! Once again, this doesn't guarantee seats, but this way we can plan accordingly and make everyone happier.
For our younger listeners: we're aware this is a school night and have made the show as early as possible to accommodate this. Our schedules in California are such that we only have weeknights available; the show should be over by about 8:30 PM, which we hope is enough time to get you home for school/work in the morning!

Other happenings from Lumos:
The Leaky Mug team (Keeper Eric, Beaters Heather (from TLC) and Andrew, Chasers John Noe (TLC), Ben and Jamie, and Emerson as Seeker) defeated the championship Water Quidditch team the Threshers in a much-publicized game 120-70 in front of a crowd of several hundred people. The game was tied 70-70 with both teams trading goals back and forth until the Snitch (worth 50 points) was captured, giving the Leaky Muggers the thrilling victory.
The last event of the Official Scholastic Podcast Tour was another big success, with over 400 fans coming out to the Barnes & Noble in The Grove in Los Angeles to see Melissa, Cheryl and Emerson. The podcast should be online soon.
The last live Leaky Mug podcast is on for tomorrow, August 2nd at 12:30 PM at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York City. We hope you'll come out and see us if you're in the area!
