These could be considered spoilers by some, so we have a link below to take you to the description. At most, this is a rough plan for the arrangement of the beginning of the film and chances are it will adjusted. Nonetheless, an interesting read for anyone interesting in seeing the plan so far for the film!

Warner Bros. has sent us high quality versions of the Order of the Phoenix movie stills we brought to you earlier, as well as three new high-resolution photos from the film. The first picture shows the DA, which includes our first look at Evanna Lynch in costume as Luna (by the way, on the left are Ryan Nelson as "Slightly Creepy Boy" and Nick Shrim as "Somewhat Doubtful Boy"). Also, we have a shot of Harry, Ron, and Hermione by a fireplace, and a photo of Umbridge in her office where her obsession with the color pink is pretty evident. Enjoy! GeekMonthly has posted the second part of their interview with Order of the Phoenix director David Yates. Check out a snippet below:
Right at the beginning, you always have these rehearsals with any actor you work with. With Dan, in particular, who had to go through this quite complex journey. We sat down several months before we started shooting. We would meet every week and we would talk about what Harry was dealing with. One of the things we did, and it sounds quite intense for a family film, is we brought in a bereavement counselor to talk to us about how Harry Potter dealt with witnessing the death of Cedric [Diggory]. This woman came in to talk to both of us about how people deal with quite intense emotional and disturbing experiences. She deals with people in the police and the rescue services who every day witnessed trauma and death, and she kind of showed us how people process that and deal with that and what it does to them.

Other HP actors are also expected to enter the studio over the weekend and into next week. Thanks to those who wrote in!

This makes sense because OOTP director David Yates said this in an interview last May: "So far, we have spent a lot of time on boats on the Thames. I want to do a great big wizard chase past the London landmarks and it is going to be very exciting, but it has not been easy to set up." We'll let you know what WB has to say on this shortly.

Warner Bros. announced today that the Order of the Phoenix soundtrack will be released on July 10th, the day before the release of the movie itself in the US and Canada. Nicholas Hooper, composer of the OOTP score, said, "I saw the scoring of this Harry Potter film as a great opportunity to work with such important themes on a grand scale. David Yates and I started early, even before filming started, working on such themes as Ministry of Magic, Umbridge, and Voldemort. However, as we came closer to the final cut, the music developed beyond what we had first imagined, so there was that inevitable race against time. My process is one of discovery, rather than having a specific plan. This can be nerve-wracking, but it has its creative benefits."

This is my schedule - I get out of a summer course on Thursday night, go to the bookshop, start queuing, queue all day Friday with my biggest Harry Potter fan friends, then read all of Friday night, all of Saturday, and then Sunday is a mourning day. I guess some people might recognise me in the queue, but everyone is just going to be so excited for the book that they won't care about me.
Edit: It looks like the BBC took the article down for no reported reason. Hopefully the full article will be back online soon!

The Scotsman has a new interview with actress Katie Leung. In the interview, she talks about how she got the part to play Cho Chang, how she felt when acting with Imelda Staunton, and how she feels about the infamous kiss with Dan. "It is supposed to be an awkward moment because it's Harry's first kiss," she says. "So it's very endearing and sweet. I think the director, David Yates, wants the audience to be taken back to the memories of their first kiss." She also discusses what she plans on doing once the Harry Potter phenomenon has toned down.

Both the Telegraph and the Gazette have posted new interviews with some of the Order of the Phoenix cast. The Telegraph interview features Katie Leung, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, and Evanna Lynch. They each talk about their characters in the Order of the Phoenix movie and how their roles in the movies have affected their lives. Bonnie Wright explains why she decided to go for the role of Ginny Weasley:
Why did you first go for the role? My brother had read the books and told me that I reminded him of the character Ginny Weasley but I didn’t really know anything about it at that point. Then I heard that they were doing auditions and he told me I should go along. I never really realised at that point how big the films would become. I don’t think any of us did.
The second interview, conducted by the Gazette, also contains a question-and-answer session with Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynch, and Matthew Lewis. When asked about Neville's fate, Lewis answered: "A lot of people have come up to me and said, 'You're going to die, mate.' Cheers! But I like to think he'll be there fighting to the end. If he does die, I'd like it to be really heroic, saving someone else's life."

A new interview with OOTP director David Yates discusses, among other things, how directing the film Sex Traffic was his ticket to receiving the offer to direct Potter. "I think that's the thing that finally swung them into offering me Potter. It was just a matter of time, I guess, before the right film came along, but I didn't want to do a movie unless the script was really perfect. When the Harry Potter offer came along, it was difficult to turn down." At that particular time, Yates had not read a single Potter book. "I read the fifth book first, then I went back and read the others, and it was really interesting. I fell in love quite quickly because the characters are great and education is a universal experience."

The BBC has a new interview with Bonnie Wright, Matt Lewis, Katie Leung, and Evanna Lynch online now. When asked what his highlight of filming the fifth movie was, Matthew replied: "I love comedy, I love making people laugh - but what I really loved this year was tackling the emotional side of Neville. That was a big challenge for me because Neville has always been a light-hearted, humorous character and I have never had to do anything as deep and emotional as that before."

In a new interview with Ain't It Cool News, Rupert Grint discusses both the upcoming movie Order of the Phoenix and filming Half-Blood Prince. Concerning the fifth movie, Rupert talks about one of the disappointments he faced: "I was a bit disappointed when Quidditch didn't make it, but I mean... it's such a big book, there's so much to fit in I can understand why they pared it down. But I'm kinda hoping it'll be in the next one." Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix comes out in theaters on July 11th. UPDATE: Ain't It Cool News also has a report from this morning's press conferences with the OOTP cast and crew. It contains information about the fifth and sixth movies, but more interestingly, Book 7.
In the original draft of the screenplay Order of the Phoenix, they had decided to remove a character from the story. Rowling read over the screenplay and said “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” that they were free to do whatever they liked, of course, but "if you make a 7th movie you’ll have tied your hands."
The report is spoiler-free for those concerned but contains theories from the author. UPDATE #2: A second interview was also conducted with David Yates. Yates talks about the new movie and the sixth movie as well. In the interview he discusses the relationship between Dumbledore and Harry: "It’s a very different dynamic this time because there’s a lot more between Dumbledore and Harry. I think we’ll be alright on this one. I’ve got a good feeling." He has also said that he has "talked about" coming back for the Deathly Hallows movie as well.

At Saturday's OOTP press conference in London, producer David Heyman was asked which character was referred to when they were advised by JKR not to cut it from the movie. Heyman responded with this: "Jo reads each draft. She reads each screenplay, and she said, 'You know, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Or you can, but if you get to make a seventh film, you'll be tied in knots.'" "Which character was it?" he was asked, but Heyman teased, "I thought you might ask that. I'm not going to say." Luckily, however, MTV News caught up with director David Yates yesterday where he submitted. Please hightlight below to see what he said because it contains Book 7 spoilers: --->“It was Kreacher, actually. We took Kreacher out, and Jo said, ‘Listen guys, you don’t have to put Kreacher back, but I’m just telling you, if you want to kind of keep a thread going for six and seven, you might want Kreacher to come back.’ She basically told us Kreacher plays a role in Seven, in a sense. She hinted. We thought about it for five seconds, and he came back.”<--- Read more on this here (link contains spoilers).

The London Times has posted the first official review of the Order of the Phoenix, giving it three out of five stars. While it does remark on some positive aspects of the film, including Immelda Staunton's performance, it also focuses on the negative parts: "The acting skills of Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione) have improved, but not enough to truly flesh out the characters and provide the narrative depth this transitional, plot-advancing film needs. They have got “angry” and “determined” down pat at this point, but struggle somewhat on the more nuanced grimaces. Harry’s bellowing cod-psychoanalysis of Voldemort is jarringly awful."

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson recently did an interview with The Telegraph speaking about the end of the movie and book franchise, as well as some other topics. Dan discusses whether or not he's had a normal childhood, saying: "I don't feel I've missed out on anything. Perhaps I've grown up slightly faster than some other people my age simply because from the age of 11 I've been surrounded by more adults than kids. I've had a working relationship with adults and that does change how you develop and mature. You possibly do grow up slightly faster. "The other day, somebody said the last Harry Potter film will probably be released in 2010. I don't know how true that is, but if it's the case then that will have been 10 years of my life and that's a huge chunk, so I'll be sad because it will be the end of an era in a way. But I equally imagine it will be quite exciting to be out of that world." Also, This Is London reports Dan will gross $50 million for the next two films together. Don't forget the trio will be on Richard & Judy today. We'll have a video online shortly afterwards. EDIT: Looks like it didn't air. We'll update you with more soon.

Scotland on Sunday has posted a new interview with Cho Chang actress Katie Leung where she discusses how playing the role has changed her, what she'd like to do post-Harry Potter, and the infamous kiss with Daniel: "[It was] not a particularly sexy or exciting kiss - it's very sweet and very clumsy, like all first kisses are. Especially since in reality, Daniel and I were a bit nervous and got a little giggly having to do it again and again." The paper also has a report from the film's set, featuring interviews with some of the stars.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) has done a new interview with the NY Post where she discusses landing the coveted role, some of her theories on the books, and more.
As a fan, are you a shipper? Who do you like? I ship all the normal ones - Ginny/Harry, Ron/Hermione, blah blah blah. But I do have a strange one, which is Luna/Dumbledore. I think they would be quite perfect. They're both so detached, so otherworldly and so comfortable with themselves and they have this uncommon fearlessness of death. They also both have quirky hobbies and deep minds and I can see them getting along a storm. I don't see this ship sailing, of course. It's just one which I think could have had potential, aided along by a time-turner.
Also, Emma Watson did an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald where she talks about kissing Ron in the sixth film:
"Kissing Rupert's going to be sooo awkward," Watson says, screwing up her cute rosy-cheeked face. "I'm trying not to think about it...it's all part of the job I guess. Don't tell him I said that. Rupert's lovely. Girls would probably give their left arm to be in my position, so I'm certainly not complaining."

Various details concerning the upcoming Order of the Phoenix DVD release are slowly starting to emerge. The Movie Informer has received what looks to be the front and back cover the 2-disc Special Edition DVD. Check it out right here! The back lists several bonus features, including: - Additional Scenes - Conversations with the Cast - Reflections on the Fifth Film - The Noble House of Black - A New Order - Ministry Mysteries - Flight of the Phoenix - Theatrical Trailers - EA Game Demo While this picture of the front and back cover do look pretty promising, this is still not confirmed by Warner Brothers. We're working on confirming all of the aforementioned details. Last month at the US premiere of the film, Emerson and I asked director David Yates how many deleted scenes we could expect on DVD. His answer falls in line with an update at the British Board of Film Classification's website, which lists 10 minutes worth of deleted and extended scenes to be included on the DVD. Thanks to Leaky for this. As for a release date, rumors are currently circulating that we can expect to see it in mid-November (many sites report November 12th in the UK). We'll be sure to update you as soon as we hear more!

Warner Brothers is pioneering a new digital download concept with the upcoming Order of the Phoenix DVD release, Video Business reports. WB will be including two digital copies of the fifth Potter film on its DVD, which you'll be able to download onto your PC or portable media player: Jim Wuthrich, Warner senior VP of digital distribution, unveiled the development at Tuesday’s DVD Forum conference here, as he discussed the studio’s plans to meet what it sees as a growing consumer demand for digital content. “You can buy the DVD and have the option of the digital copy,” said Wuthrich. “This future-proofs the format for consumers.” While there is no word yet on exactly which media players you'll be able to put OOTP on, we can assume WB is targeting the very large iPod and iPhone markets. Both devices are capable of playing movies on-the-go. The DVD will be released in the UK on November 12th and the US on December 11th. Thanks to Lauren for the tip!

Lizo over at CBBC Newsround has posted a review of the upcoming Order of the Phoenix DVD, which is scheduled for release tomorrow (November 12th) in the UK. He gives the DVD 3 out of 5 stars and writes this about his favorite parts: Which are the best bits? Seeing some of the behind the scenes stuff in the Tonks feature. The long version of the scene where Umbridge inspects Professor Trelawney's Divination lesson is great. Fans who are particularly into the books will enjoy the Secrets of Harry Potter documentary, although now those that have read Deathly Hallows will have had a lot of their questions already answered. Fans who are more into the films will enjoy the editing feature where they can try putting together a scene in the Room of Requirement. Anyone looking to purchase it in the United States will have to wait until, very unfortunately, December 11th. Thanks to Ukean34 and Lisa for the tip!

The Order of the Phoenix DVD has been released in the United States today, a month after fans in UK and Australia got their hands on it. Several visitors have e-mailed in to tell us that there is a new sneak peek of Half-Blood Prince on the DVD. The clips differ from those that were available online to UK/Australia buyers. It has been uploaded to YouTube for those of you who don't hold the United States disc. If these clips are made available online for international viewers, please let us know via tips at staff dot mugglenet dot com! Additionally, Larry sent in this article from MTV which speaks with producer David Yates about Half-Blood Prince filming: That's because, as director David Yates points out, it's the "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" of the Potter books, with massive making-out sessions to occur for several characters — Ron and Lavender, Harry and Ginny — as they come of age. "It's the 'American Graffiti' for this set," Yates said. "I'm looking forward to developing the relationship between Ron and Hermione, and Ron and Lavender. There's a nice triangle there." Follow this link for more from Heyman, Dan Radcliffe (Harry), Katie Leung (Cho), and Evanna Lynch (Luna).

Yesterday we told you that the Food Network's Ace of Cakes would be doing a special last night on the Hogwarts Castle Cake from the LA Order of the Phoenix after party. DanRadcliffe.com now has the video online, and you can watch it over at their site. Thanks, Jenna! Of note to MuggleNet visitors, when you get to 2:38 you'll see Ben and Emerson behind one of the cake designer's right shoulder. Unfortunately, we were too afraid to touch the cake because of how well it was designed.
