Harry Potter makes girls violent
A prominent US psychologist says popular fictional characters such as Hermione Granger could be contributing to an increase in violence among girls.

We'll add this to the list of other things Harry Potter has been held responsible for possibly causing: headaches from causing kids to read for extended lengths of time, back problems for forcing kids to lug around the monstrous fifth book, chauvinism, devil-worshiping, fatism (discrimination against obese people), "postPotter depression" (how we feel after we finish a book and settle down for the multi-year wait for the next installment), forced abortions in China, and global warming.

Okay, I made the last one up, but you get the idea - Harry is a popular scapegoat. Don't get your knickers in a twist over this one.

ok so, this gut thinks that if you're being raped/kidnapped/robbed/assaulted/whatever, you should just stand there and take it because 'girls aren't supposed to hit'??? i mean, come on! people like him should learn not to be so sexist and to find a new scapegoat!

Did you know that I needed glasses after OotP? It´s JKR´s fault. She´s the one to blame that my eyes went dim. Now I´m stupidlooking. Thank you!

Wow, people's stupidity about some things just makes my day. There is nothing like reading total bs to make you feel better. Seriously though, its almost hard to believe that people are actually like that. And as for the whole H/Hr shipping link that you put in this comment, hilarious. I think they would lynch me for sure b/c I rather liked the Harry/Luna ship, haha. Alls well that ends well though, they'll get over it eventually.

People can be really stupid sometimes. I didn't go into reading either article biasedly (is that a word? You know what I mean) just because JK is my favorite author and I love her books ("love" is an understatement, lol). I read both articles with an open mind. His was just full of misunderstandings. His information about the books was totally messed up, and it was clear he had never actually read any of the books. Writing that article was a total waste of his time and I'm convinced he is just another ridiculous person trying to stir up controversy for JK because... of something or other, I don't know. Maybe he thinks she has too much fame and money. But she's definitely earned everything she has and deserves it and I think people need to just leave her alone and stop trying to make trouble for her. WE LOVE YOU JK!!

This is REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harry Potter dosen't make people violent. It's people's own choice to become violent. Harry Potter is just a good book series that I adore. P.S. Harry Potter acctualy discourages not encourages violence.

Harry Potter is about love, friendship, caring, and the fight of good versus evil. To accuse it of spawning violence is an insult to JKR and all of her readers.
