Last word of Book 7 no longer 'scar'
The BBC has posted some more details on JK Rowling's interview with Jonathan Ross, which was recorded yesterday but which will air tonight. When asked about whether "scar" was the last word in the book as had been reported, she said: "Scar? It was so for ages, and now it's not. Scar is quite near the end, but it's not the last word."
She also talked about Dan, Rupert, and Emma: "It's a weird relationship. It's a peculiar feeling, parental, and yet there's this place where you're inhabiting the same characters... strangely intense from my point of view... to keep it all British has been a hell of an achievement."

oh my gosd!! but this rumor's been going on since... since i can rember!!!! and it was really nice, because here in Israel - in Hebrew - the first letter of the first word of the first book starts with "Aleph" - which is our first letter, and the word "scar" ends with "Tav" - which is the last, so we all thought the series would be like a "from A to Z" thingy... never mind (: Top Ten!
Wonder what it is now then?... Anyways, can't wait to watch it tonight!

Yeah, I agree "scar" is a bit difficult to end a book on. Whereas "nitwit"... :P Harry agreed that Voldy was such a nitwit. Nice ending.
lol i cant wait to see this interview-but its a bit annoying we know everything interesting she says now! Wonder if there will be any surprises?! Anyone guess what The Four Poofs and a Piano will sing for her entrance?

Aw man I was actually looking forward to it being 'scar'. Eh oh well. The book should be great. Oh and everyone by the way, I just would like to let you all know that it is said and confirmed by Jo a Chapter title for Deathly Hallows was revealed. It was on a video from the Onion News Network that Chapter Five of Deathly Hallows is called, (***SPOILER WARNING***) "Blood on the Cloak" in which a character gets "date raped". No idea what that means but it can be found on YouTube. Just type this in on the search bar and watch the video: "J.K. Rowling Hints At Harry Potter Date Rape" which is said 37 seconds into the video. Now I'm not sure if it's a joke or not because it doesn't sound like a fake but it's just absolutely exciting to hear a chapter title.

The Onion is a notorious satire site, nothing they right is true. There is no way JKR would put date rape in a Harry Potter book. On another note, I think including the word 'scar' that close to the end indicates that Harry will live. Why talk about his scar if he's dead?
awwwwwh. i wanted it to be scar, though i indeed agree on how it could possibly end that way. i'm curious to know what's the last word now. darn you jo. it might be something like "at" or something, not really a noun. ohwell. you just HAD to get our hopes up.

Goodness i have been believing that scar was the last word for a while now, oh well i guess its more exciting this way we dont' expect it..
Scar would be a very hard word to end a sentence on, let alone a book. But who cares because it’s gone be an amazing book.
14 Days away?!?!??!? A no scar? Well, I was amazed she could keep it as the last word for so long. It's hard to base a whole sentence or chapter knowing that you have a certain word to end on so kudos to Jo for trying!
RyAn2006: I looked at it and it does look real. But the "spell" isn't italicized. And the margins seem smaller than the other books as well. Can't wait.

OK, that Onion News thing is so stupid. Why would that happen? And when Jo did that interview thing, she said she always planned a date rape. Why would she have always planned a rape!? And that news guy asked that Ethan Brock guy if it was an anal rape or oral rape which I find disturbing. What on earth is wrong with people.

this is so heart breaking! Man, now what's it gonna be? I bet when she first started the Harry Potter books, Harry (unfortuantly) was going to die, but then he got the reprieve in this book, changing the last word which was to be scar. I bet the line was something amoung... "...and it all was about Harry Potter's scar." Just taken a guess people. So to me.... HARRY POTTER WILL NOT DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
