Last word of Book 7 no longer 'scar'
Last word of Book 7 no longer 'scar' The BBC has posted some more details on JK Rowling's interview with Jonathan Ross, which was recorded yesterday but which will air tonight.

When asked about whether "scar" was the last word in the book as had been reported, she said: "Scar? It was so for ages, and now it's not. Scar is quite near the end, but it's not the last word."

She also talked about Dan, Rupert, and Emma: "It's a weird relationship. It's a peculiar feeling, parental, and yet there's this place where you're inhabiting the same characters... strangely intense from my point of view... to keep it all British has been a hell of an achievement."

Posted by Sarah_Louise Jul 6th 2007

wow! i wonder what the new word is????

Posted by yuvalavrami Jul 6th 2007

oh my gosd!! but this rumor's been going on since... since i can rember!!!! and it was really nice, because here in Israel - in Hebrew - the first letter of the first word of the first book starts with "Aleph" - which is our first letter, and the word "scar" ends with "Tav" - which is the last, so we all thought the series would be like a "from A to Z" thingy... never mind (: Top Ten!

Posted by BaybeeBethy Jul 6th 2007

Wonder what it is now then?... Anyways, can't wait to watch it tonight!

Posted by dobbyiscool Jul 6th 2007

I wonder why it isn't the last word anymore.

Posted by toast10 Jul 6th 2007

14 DAYS I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER

Posted by saidin_rules Jul 6th 2007

The last word is "nitwit".

Posted by cbailey_9691 Jul 6th 2007

Posted by Hp4booklover Jul 6th 2007

Posted by LauraJWhite Jul 6th 2007

Oh, the suspense is killing me. Fourteen days and counting, until one of the greatest days in centuries! People are going to go apes**t when they read the ending to the story.

Posted by Sarah_Louise Jul 6th 2007

he was kidding when he said it was nitwit.

Posted by Everyone_loves_Harry Jul 6th 2007

Say what?!?! Scar was a cool word @_@ woot i cant wait for the book or the movie...(book more)

Posted by saidin_rules Jul 6th 2007

Yeah, just kidding. Would be cool, though!

Posted by GoGreen_SaveTheEarth Jul 6th 2007

LOL....nitwit, thats funny!

Posted by Charliee Jul 6th 2007

Hahah, but honestly, how was she gonna end it with scar? ..and with that, Harry touched his scar. ...and Harry looked up, at his scar. ....and Harry knew, why he was destined to have received this scar. Actually, the last one was okay. Haha

Posted by saidin_rules Jul 6th 2007

Yeah, I agree "scar" is a bit difficult to end a book on. Whereas "nitwit"... :P Harry agreed that Voldy was such a nitwit. Nice ending.

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

lol i cant wait to see this interview-but its a bit annoying we know everything interesting she says now! Wonder if there will be any surprises?! Anyone guess what The Four Poofs and a Piano will sing for her entrance?

Posted by saidin_rules Jul 6th 2007

Haha yes ermmm...It's a Kind of Magic by Queen? Oh, btw for anyone who doesn't know the Four Poofs are a regular feature on the show! Phew.

Posted by ginnypotter719 Jul 6th 2007

omg no way! grr. dunno . i just really thought it was cool how the last word was scar...yeah

Posted by HalfBlood06 Jul 6th 2007

Aw man I was actually looking forward to it being 'scar'. Eh oh well. The book should be great. Oh and everyone by the way, I just would like to let you all know that it is said and confirmed by Jo a Chapter title for Deathly Hallows was revealed. It was on a video from the Onion News Network that Chapter Five of Deathly Hallows is called, (***SPOILER WARNING***) "Blood on the Cloak" in which a character gets "date raped". No idea what that means but it can be found on YouTube. Just type this in on the search bar and watch the video: "J.K. Rowling Hints At Harry Potter Date Rape" which is said 37 seconds into the video. Now I'm not sure if it's a joke or not because it doesn't sound like a fake but it's just absolutely exciting to hear a chapter title.

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

lol ohh yea forgot to explain that-thanks saidin_rules! Could sound a bit bad on my behalf! BTW anyone think that tomorrow is going to have a "Magic" feeling about it?! 7/7/7- an update from Jo maybe?!

Posted by cool_varzz Jul 6th 2007

Scar not being the last word is no big deal ........the book is gonna be brilliant anyway......MAN LOOK AT THE MUGGLENET COUNTDOWN!!!!!.......WE ARE SO CLOSE TO THE D-DAY !

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

OK-POTNEITALLY BIG SPOILER HERE. Apparently a page from the book is online. Now I DO think this is real because its so real looking...anyone brave enough for a look share your opinions?! NOW THE PAGE IS NOT A PAGE WHERE A DEATH IS REVEALED. http://bp1.blogger.com/_U FdimCqGVZs/RnR-EPzzSMI/AA AAAAAAAAU/KftgjsHgEQw/s16 00-h/deathlyhallowspage2s i8.jpg

Posted by atilat7 Jul 6th 2007

also don't know how she would have enden it with scar... can't wait for the book!!!!!!!!!!! fourteen days seems like a year!

Posted by sansan Jul 6th 2007

The Onion is a notorious satire site, nothing they right is true. There is no way JKR would put date rape in a Harry Potter book. On another note, I think including the word 'scar' that close to the end indicates that Harry will live. Why talk about his scar if he's dead?

Posted by omgharrypotter Jul 6th 2007

awwwwwh. i wanted it to be scar, though i indeed agree on how it could possibly end that way. i'm curious to know what's the last word now. darn you jo. it might be something like "at" or something, not really a noun. ohwell. you just HAD to get our hopes up.

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

it might be talking about him though...i dont think it indicates anything sadly...

Posted by atilat7 Jul 6th 2007

he might not be dead, but leaving the wizarding world and his scar may disappear...

Posted by ihatespiders2 Jul 6th 2007

I can't believe that! I wonder what the new last word will be...Can't wait!

Posted by quidditchplayer Jul 6th 2007

Digital Spy has posted a new inteview with Jo: http://www.digitalspy.co. uk/movies/a64189/potter-p remiere-in-video-jk-rowli ng.html

sWEET nIBLETS i tHAUGHT i nEW sOMETHING lOL

Posted by the7thhorcux Jul 6th 2007

Goodness i have been believing that scar was the last word for a while now, oh well i guess its more exciting this way we dont' expect it..

Posted by gist217 Jul 6th 2007

Scar would be a very hard word to end a sentence on, let alone a book. But who cares because it’s gone be an amazing book.

Posted by veela4lifex0x Jul 6th 2007

14 Days away?!?!??!? A no scar? Well, I was amazed she could keep it as the last word for so long. It's hard to base a whole sentence or chapter knowing that you have a certain word to end on so kudos to Jo for trying!

Posted by HalfBlood06 Jul 6th 2007

RyAn2006: I looked at it and it does look real. But the "spell" isn't italicized. And the margins seem smaller than the other books as well. Can't wait.

Posted by MinervaMoon Jul 6th 2007

*gasp* :( And I was so hoping for: "And the best character in the Lion King . . . is Scar."

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

HalfBlood06- thanks for checking-it does look real but like you said those couple of little bits make me doubtful!

Posted by chommy Jul 6th 2007

OK, that Onion News thing is so stupid. Why would that happen? And when Jo did that interview thing, she said she always planned a date rape. Why would she have always planned a rape!? And that news guy asked that Ethan Brock guy if it was an anal rape or oral rape which I find disturbing. What on earth is wrong with people.

Posted by lumos_aeternum Jul 6th 2007

" 'Curious...it is curious that you were destined for this wand when it's brother gave you that...oh, what was that word again...oh well, doesn't matter that much.' Harry facepalm. The End."

Posted by Potterfreak0016 Jul 6th 2007

this is so heart breaking! Man, now what's it gonna be? I bet when she first started the Harry Potter books, Harry (unfortuantly) was going to die, but then he got the reprieve in this book, changing the last word which was to be scar. I bet the line was something amoung... "...and it all was about Harry Potter's scar." Just taken a guess people. So to me.... HARRY POTTER WILL NOT DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Oblivious Jul 6th 2007

I'm so excited for this interview!! :D

Posted by matsemann08 Jul 6th 2007

I think its gonna be. The Boy Who Lived

Posted by voldiekilledthedodos Jul 6th 2007

grr. rawr. I'm mad.

Posted by Prefiera_de_Gryfalco Jul 6th 2007

RyAn2006, it appears fake as I spotted at least one grammar mistake and the spell (as HalfBlood06 pointed out) should be in italics.

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

Prefiera_de_Gryfalco thanks for checking-yes its scary the effort some people will go to isnt it and then its something simple that catches them out!
