Last word of Book 7 no longer 'scar'
Last word of Book 7 no longer 'scar' The BBC has posted some more details on JK Rowling's interview with Jonathan Ross, which was recorded yesterday but which will air tonight.

When asked about whether "scar" was the last word in the book as had been reported, she said: "Scar? It was so for ages, and now it's not. Scar is quite near the end, but it's not the last word."

She also talked about Dan, Rupert, and Emma: "It's a weird relationship. It's a peculiar feeling, parental, and yet there's this place where you're inhabiting the same characters... strangely intense from my point of view... to keep it all British has been a hell of an achievement."

No Hoskins is a great Slughorn!! Although if Richard Griffiths had not been cast as Vernone he would be my ideal Sluggy!! A BLOODBATH! LOL I KNEW IT! Any wonder she was "devestated!" HOW MANY HAS THIS WOMAN KILLED?!?!

Just watched JKR's interview on Jonathan Ross. It was fudge hilarious, especially when Jonathan asked her if dobby the house elf was based on Gary Lineker, priceless.

Is no one else *extremely* curious about the "chapter list" posted by adeathlyhallow euuh..... NO.... a nice list of words that gives as much information as the three official reveiled chaptertitles of HalfBlood Prince two years ago.... a wide range of speculations that triggered and NON of those hit the mark or came closely......I can do perfectly well without this kind of "info" for another 14 days.when this is a real spoiler, thankyou so much and psst off, when it isn't one, psst off also.

Happy 7/7/7 everyone!! Anyone expect any Jo website updates on such a magic date?!

Posted by chitrab Jul 6th 2007

Ah! I was so looking forward to reading that last sentence that ends with scar. Never mind, though. Whichever way it ends, it shall always be considered a jewel of a book in my heart.

Posted by kpallod Jul 6th 2007

Yeahh that chapter list was really interesting... where'd it come from? Is there a reason i can't open the link to the supposed DH page? Am i missing something? I just keep getting an error message from google =S. No scar? I'm disappointed. Its going to take massive willpower not to look at the last word and stop myself from reading the whole book backwards...

Most of us already independently believe that Harry will live. But doesn't the word "scar" almost surely refer to Harry's (his is the only one so important as to occupy such a prominent place in the book 7), and isn't the appearance of a description of a feature of Harry practically at the end further evidence that he's alive at the end? Of course not that most of us need any more conviction that he lives...

EEEE!!! cant waut for the book!!

Posted by Harryfan12 Jul 6th 2007

Can't wait to read the last word of the book!!

Posted by performingmonkey Jul 6th 2007

My guess is that the last line was going to be something like 'and they all sat down to hear tales of the boy with the lightning-bolt scar.' Or perhaps it would have been 'he sure missed Ron and Hermione, it hadn't been the same since they died, or Fred and George, or Ginny for that matter, her passing had hurt the most. But if there was one thing he DIDN'T miss, it was that ****in' lightning-bolt scar.'

Posted by RyAn2006 Jul 6th 2007

Platero it doesnt prove anything sadly-as we know the final chapter is a look at the survivors-theres nothing to say a line wont come from another character who mentions harry and the scar...but we know scar will feature near the end. its the words that preceed it that are most important lol!! Jo did mention something about Dumbledores Scar-in shape of london underground-being mentioned-could it be here?? doubtful but an option...

Aw man. This ruins so many good inside jokes I had with my friends.

Posted by harrypotterprincess08 Jul 6th 2007

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! A change at the last minute. I heard about this from a friend and freaked out. This book promises to be great but i can't believe she changed it after so long. I would like to know what the new last word is but I guess we will find out in 14 days. Let's all enjoy our last days of Harry Potter ignorance and bliss before it is all over. Happy Summer.

I thought that Mugglenet was anti spoiler... Or at least, I'd expected Mugglenet to put some warning in the title or something, because this definitely counts as a spoiler. (Those comments are a real no-go area, too *sigh*)

Posted by Altoid_storm Jul 7th 2007

I'm not sure if anyone reads these anymore... but HalfBlood, do you even KNOW what the Onion News IS? I hope so... and I really hope you don't believe what you wrote about the daterape and whatnot.

So so so glad that it isn't. I knew it would change because I thought scar would be a really weird last word. And I haven't thought about what the new last word might be...
