OK well this is wat i think.... I have to disagree i absolutley hated the 5th book because Sirius i my all time favorite character in al the books i have read...and i was pretty mad about the sixth books end too..i actually think that it would be ok if Harry died... coming from a writer of many stories of my own...i think it would actually be approprate that Harry died..cause if she is only writing 7 books then in the end if Harry DIDNT die everyone would be like well wat happened to Harry and like all that but if she killed off Harry we kno that Neville would propbly be the next chosen one (see 5th book)...i have written many ends to the sereies when im bored (thats sounds really geeky) but yea i do and that is one of many ending i have written.. so you guys will probaly think i dont love Harry personally i like him.. hes just to...i dont kno...perfect in a way...and i think it would be cool to see Nevelle's sheild come down and he be the one to kill Voldemort...wat do you guys think????

I think Harry, Ron and Hermione do NOT die. Harry, however, never returns to the land of the living because he travels beyond the veil to battle it out with Voldemort- and this is why all his mentors had to die: because they are now beyond the veil. Harry will be seperated from his living friends, but he will be reunited with his parents, Dumbledore, and Sirius. Voldemort will be outrightly destroyed- no chance at becoming a ghost for him. Here's who i suspect die: Umbrisge, Voldemort, Hagrid (sobs), Aunt Petunia, Snape, and Wormtail

i don't think that i will loathe it because whatever happens is how it was meant to be. think about it, everything we've read is leading up to this book, so the ending will be perfect, no matter what it is! i read some of the comments though, and i would not be happy if what VshawnT 29 says comes true. :/ ONLY ONE MORE WEEK! :D

I seriously believe that harry will die. his death would be like the death of a close family member to me, howver i do believe that that would be the proper ending. harry survives at the end of every book..if he lives on this one..wouldnt it be so predictable? i think so...and a sade death...would give more emotion than a yay! after three thousand pages, harry still lives! it hasnt had many happy endings so far so.... he death is the most probable ending, i'd say

im pretty sure il LOVE it no matter what happens or who dies. after all i got through the death of my (really, really, really) beloved sirius so i think i csn pretty much get through anyone else's death!!! omg i cannot explain how im feeling right now, im soooooooo excitied it unreal and im so sad that it's coming to an end! im also scared that i wont be able to stop crying long enough to actually read the book!!

If either Hermione or Ron dies, there will be plenty of people who will still loathe the book, even if Harry survives. People would be bitter about other Weasleys dying as well. (Personally, I doubt both twins will survive.) There are plenty of other reasons people might loathe the book, it doesn't just mean that Harry must be dying. That's an awfully big assumption on the part of this news report.

I won't hate the book if Harry, or anyone, dies but of course I'll be really sad about it. I don't want any of them to die. It wont be something that would make you loathe the books and if Harry or Ron or Hermione does die, then that's what was meant to be...obviously. Anyway, I really don't want them to die. It'll be so sad. Gah... I need the bookkkk. This next week is going to kill me.

NOW look at all the people who think Harry will die. Where were you yesterday????? Even though there are some people still ignoring reason. Loathe is a strong word. Just because you don't like some of the revelations you've been waiting for (maybe the horcruxes are a disappointment) doesn't mean you'll loathe the book. You might dislike it or hate it. To LOATHE it means that something has to happen that you wish JKR didn't do, not something that you were just disappointed in. And that would be killing Harry. I'm not going to hate it if he dies. Id probably have a bigger chance of hating it if he lived, kind of a boring, anticlimactic ending to a seven book long series.

Well, if I even see HBP, after suffering through OoTP, then I'll think "this is just a movie meant to make money off of JKR's idea, and she had the right to kill Harry because it was her creation." Same with the theme park. And I agree, I'd rather Harry died than Ron or Hermione. And hpgirl21053, by your standards any ending to DH is predictable. Lets look at this: we know he must live or die. Yes, those are two mutually exclusive events, so one must happen or the other must happen. If we're done understanding that, you'll see that there are (on a simple level) two possible endings. So both are predictable in a way. It would just be cornier and expected if Harry lived.

I would love this last book even if she killed every single one of my favorite characters. Everything Jo puts into her books is for a reason, so I'm sure she will make it all come together perfectly no matter what. I'd like to point out, however, that Hermione is just as likely to die as Ron. They've been equals throughout the entire series (as opposed to the movies that make Hermione a more major character) and to kill just one of them would throw everything off balance. So I'm thinking if one's dead, the other will follow suit so that they can be dead together (although I doubt that will happen, and pray it doesn't).

I knew it! i knew we'd get some news about DH today ..even its not from jo directly..we got some *squee* I doubt I'll loathe it though..however she wants to finish it im sure I'll love it!

I might just loathe it if there's just too many deaths. I know this will be about the Wizarding War, and there will be deaths... but a high body count will just become tedious and frankly annoying (like Harry’s pubescent crisis in Order of the Phoenix). The deaths will lose all value and the reader will get bored if characters (either major or minor, or even just the mention of some random person) snuff it at every other page, whether they be good, bad or neutral.

Killing Harry would make me use up a box of Kleenex, but it wouldn't make me hate the book if it's well done (and I'm sure it would be). I'd be more likely to hate the book if it turns out Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him. I still can't believe so many people think so...

I'm sooooooo NOT ready for next Saturday.... SOOOOO not ready.... I keep thinking what I'm gonna do if I read the book and I find out that Harry dies. But the most important thing is that after this book, all the wonderful experiences I've gone trough these past few years thanks to these books will be gone... I am also experiencing a sort of "dilema" because I live in Argentina and I'm the only member of my family who will read the book as soon as it comes out, because neither my mom nor my sister speak English, and they're both huge fans, too. So, next Saturday I'll be either jumping up and down with joy or cryin' my heart out, and I'll have to hide those feelings so as not to spoil their experience... I can foresee some looooooong hours alone in my bedroom... I just want to say that no matter what happens in this final episode, I will be forever thankful to Jo for showing us the magical world she has built. Have a nice final week, everyone!!!

I don't think at all that people loathing her because of the deaths points to Harry, there are MANY well-loved characters by many different people. Imagine the uproar if Fred or George died?

I don't know....I do think ever since the death in HBP no one in the books is safe. My hunch is both LV and Harry will die but would she kill the main character ? We'll see...

So I'd like to think she'd stick to that and not kill off Ron! :( But I"m still worried for Harry. and I agree w/ someone's comment who said if Harry does die then he lived a pretty "crummy" 17 years. didn't really get to relax or have a life :(. Not to mention if he dies that will be sooo sad to watch in the movie! :'(.
