I call fake. Even when it's a known character speaking the words JK never says "__ said" until the character's name has been stated by someone else in the scene. If it were true the line would have read "The Best," replied the shorter of the two men."

that sounds like more or less the second chapter of HBP but only it's not narcissa and bellatrix this time. plus JK's had 4 letter chapter titles before and that opening sentence sounds a lot like most of her opening sentences.

OH MY GOSH! The taller one of the two has to be Voldy. Voldemort is supposedly taller than Snape. and the chapter is about the Dark Lord. OMG I WANT THE BOOK NOW!!!

This is obviously fake. After re-reading it with a friend, we both agreed that the scene was very rushed. Jo likes to go in depth with her setting, especially towards the beginning (a quality I like about her) and this scene just seemed to jump in on a alleyway. And as previously mentioned, "Jo" uses a lot of US sounding language in this "excerpt". This does not all seem her writing style. So, 54th approx?

i think that its making us wonder whether the people snape's meeting is from the order or from the death.eaters..and its as if its pushing us into thinking that its from the de because of the chapter's name..but we won't know for sure until july21..we're not even that positive that its jo's work..

I think that this is a fake. I agree that the opening sentence seems more like fanfic writing than Jo's writing. It's also pretty hard to read something on camera unless Jo really let them linger there for a long time, which seems a tad unlikely. On the other hand, I remember when the HBP chapter titles were leaked, everyone was saying "those titles are so stupid...there's no way that they're real," and then sure enough they were the real chapter titles. Sometimes things seem strange when you don't read them knowing the context.

Ok, I definately take my first comment back. This is definately fake. I've read it over several times. It's poorly written. Jo would've included better vocabulary .."The two men appeared out of nowhere"? That just sounds so informal. She usually would describe the surroundings more, the smells, sights etc.. and as someone had mentioned before, she wouldn't use a character's name until it was said out loud. This is totally fake.

I dont know about this...... It seems awfully jkr storyline like. But the writing is sort of... weird. The "the's" sort of caught me. The men and The alley. I dont know.....

yeah normally when she starts out a book it gives surrounding before characters so i conclude that this is a fake....end of story

For the past several days, I've been fishing through Deathly Hallows. This makes the third version I've read a part of. In my opinion, they are all fake. The complete 700 page version of DH that I read through reeked of Fan Fiction. I disproved another version that just had a page scan (kinda like what happened with HBP), as the spell that Hermione utters is not italicized. Dark and terrible times lie ahead, Mugglenetters, and I have a feeling that just about everything that comes our way is fake. This book is under lock and key.

being this close to the book, i am avoiding all possible spoilers at all costs. i'm not saying it's tempting, i actually highlighted the first 5 words and then decided to not go the rest of the way, lol, but still. even though i doubt that the first page says anything about who dies and everything like that.

It doesn't even make sense! And for those of you who are asking, the person who invented this paragraph obviously meant the "best news" to be Dumbledore's death.
