The Guardian reveals opening of Deathly Hallows?
The Guardian reveals opening of Deathly Hallows? With extreme caution for lack of authenticity, we bring you this article from The Guardian's online website. It holds, what they say, is the opening to Deathly Hallows dated October 23rd, 2006.

According to their site, this small portion can be seen in video from the upcoming JK Rowling documentary we told you about a few days ago.

We've posted it in the black area below in case it is removed from The Guardian's website. Highlight in between the arrows if you wish to read.

-->'Chapter One. The Dark Lord Ascending. The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart in the narrow, moonlit lane. For a second they stood quite still, wands pointing at each other's chests: then, recognising each other, they stowed their wands beneath their cloaks and set off, side by side, in the same direction.

"News?", asked the taller of the two.

"The best," replied Snape.'
<--

Please remember that it is still unknown as to whether or not this is real. Interesting, nonetheless. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed with the tip!

Emily's edit: I emailed Andrew saying I didn't think the excerpt was real. Here's why: There is a mixture of British/English grammar - the British spelling of "recognise" and the American use of "a few yards." There are also odd punctuation errors - a colon after "chest" and then ?", when only a question mark before the quotation mark would be used. Would Jo really make these errors? We'll find out soon.

oh well. i really don't know what to think. its really tempting to go on the links though but i really don't want to....

Posted by jhjpjhjp Jul 16th 2007

i stand by the fact that jo has set this up. she put in little clues like the wrong no. of chapter titles, and the wrong grammar to see if we'd notice, that way the hardcore fans wont fall for this trick like so many in these comments have appeared to do.

Posted by naikuria Jul 16th 2007

Don't. It will ruin it for you. This is once in a lifetime thing

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

I'm not going to. i'm going to be patient. :) and wait...its not that long to wait anyway is it?

Posted by naikuria Jul 16th 2007

I really hope your right jhp, that or it's all just a elaborate hoxe

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

This is insane, I can't believe people are still posting about this 24 HOURS LATER!!!!! We're all entitled to our opinions, and if the paragraph is real, BIG DEAL! It's 4 sentences long, a chapter number, and a chapter title. Honestly, you can even read the epilouge links, it's blurry and it gives more away, but whatever. God, I think this is the most comments I've ever seen on MuggleNet.

Posted by Arkeus Jul 16th 2007

From the looks of it, it's almost certainly real.

Posted by naikuria Jul 16th 2007

most of the topic I believe eviegrl941, is about "suposed" leaked book and information on deaths and everything. It seems to be real, but for the love of God, I hope it's not

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

naikuria-- I know, I was here yesterday when we all discovered the leaked info, and were fighting with each other over the different ways we said the same thing. Most people were saying the same thing as someone else, but they were post-yelling at them because they didn't know what to think anymore.

Posted by Kid_A Jul 16th 2007

http://www.zendur l.com/hallows/ - This website gives all the information about book 7, and, however I seem like spoiling it, I'm actually NOT spoiling it. Please, if you like to learn everything by reading the book, please don't look to this website. Everything's real on there... I was just about to be spoiled!

Posted by naikuria Jul 16th 2007

The epilouge just seems so fake to me though, I really will lose all respect for JKR, if that is real

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

the first thing im gonna do when i get the book is check out the first page - then i will know whether all this is fake straightway can't wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

I feel sick. Kid_A-- Something on that link is fake b/c it says that Ron dies, but then he's in the Epilouge. I'm done with all of you!

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Okay, I'm weak. What if the person took a digital picture of any other book, altered it in Photoshop, printed it out, then took a Canon pictureto make it look real. I still think it is real, but for those that don't, there you go.

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

i think you're right Eviegrl.

Posted by naikuria Jul 16th 2007

I just thought of something, in the link that halohunter posted it says that the love room has a huge role in doing something(I won't say what), but wouldn't JKR had insisted that that be put in the movie?

Posted by Sainyn Jul 16th 2007

The style of writing in the epilogue wasn't really like Jk. And are some of the chapter titles cheesy or what? It took all my restraint to not go through the entire thing in your link, Kid. What I read though, doesn't seem very true. The opening that's given here, at first I half-thought it might be true, but after reading a few comments, I realized not.

Posted by Kloax Jul 16th 2007

IT CAN BE FAKED EASILY SO CHILL ITS PROBABLY NOT REAL THIS IS NOT A SPOILER IT IS PROOF THAT IT CAN BE FAKED http://img2.free imagehosting.net/image.ph p?1d117ceaa5.jpg

Hey people, order of the phoenix has already been released in africa. In south africa, where i come from the movie was released on the eleventh, at midnight, on imax and other theatre screens across the country. Also, english one of our eleven official languages and the book is going to be released here on saturday morning, same as everywhere else. Even still, amazon and other online book shops are delivering the books even to african states where the book's translation will only be released next year... So no waiting months for any release, harry will be here be it on big screen or the last book at precisely the same time its released worldwide

Posted by fairlight Jul 16th 2007

I WANT THE BOOK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by leith Jul 16th 2007

Bearing in mind that mugglenet have a no spoiler policy now, which is probably why alot of the links that people have posted on comments haven't been posted on the news. I think this may well have been set up, otherwise it wouldn't have been posted in the first place. Also, don't worry about the deaths mentioned. Even if it is true, we'll still have to read the book to find out for certian.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Let's make this clear: EVERYONE WANTS THE GOD.DAM.N BOOK NOW!!!!!!!!! I shouldn't have cursed an HP book, but TOO BAD!!!!!

Posted by SheWhoVisitsFrequently Jul 16th 2007

Kloax: I applaud your link. I'm going to re-post it so hopefully more can see it. If you could create one similar to the one posted, that would be very helpful to the very upset potterheads here. :) http://img2.freeima gehosting.net/image.php?1 d117ceaa5.jpg The link is NOT a spoiler. Please see it if you want to see how easily the 7th book can be photoshopped. Quell your fears, young potterphiles. :)

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

Kloax thanks! you've just proved to me that they're all fake. :)

Posted by Regulus_Black Jul 16th 2007

I read a spoiler that showed photos of the contense page and summeries of all the chapters. The plot was very JK-style, it fitted all of her hints, and everything matched. I seriously, really REALLY regret it. DO NOT READ SPOILERS IT RUINS THE BOOK!!!! I cant believe Mugglenet put a spoiler on! I know its not much, but still... and all of the spoilers in the comments - ugh. I cant believe i read one. I though at the time that it'd be fine, it'd be blataltly not real and even if it was real it'd just get me more exited for the book. but no, IT RUINED THE BOOK FOR ME. If that spoiler turns out to be true, it will have ruined book 7 for me, so please - DO NOT READ SPOILERS!! No matter how much you think you dont care, or how much you want to - it wrecks it, it truely does.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Hey, Sectumbumprahaha-- No offense, but why do we care? We're all discussing possible DH spoilers, and you're talking about the OOTP premiere in South Africa.

Posted by Regulus_Black Jul 16th 2007

KLOAX, MISSMALFOY, the link wont work for me! :( I've just read a huge spoiler - i clicked on it out of interest, and just got hooked. and now i really REALLY regret it :( how stupid was that?!?! But I really, desparatly need proof it's fake. is there another link to that site? Because the http://img2.freeima gehosting.net/image.php?1 d117ceaa5.jpg one doesn't work for me..... ?

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Regulus_Black--Seriously? One spoiler would ruin the book for you? That must have been one hardcore spoiler then, cuz' more than half of the stuff we've seen isn't real. People here are weak; they're not going to stop posting and reading spoilers just cuz' you tell them to. Those chapter summaries are stupid: one of them said that Hermione got hit on by drunkards!?!?! And those chapter titles aren't anything that my dog couldn't come up with.

Posted by Kloax Jul 16th 2007

http://img2.freeimagehost ing.net/image.php?1d117ce aa5.jpg you have to delete the spaces in it...

Posted by Yoshi Jul 16th 2007

Kloax that is so amazing. It looks so real. I was hoping you guys weren't joking and it was the last page or something. But if that really did only take 6 minutes then those books which people have written (that I have not look at myself as I don't want the book spoiled) could be entirely fake. Thanks.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Kloax-- Thanks, that did change my mind. I honestly think that you will know who the MuggleNet and TLC fans are because they'll be the ones who faint in the parking lot outside Barnes and Noble with the book in their hands and a fiendish smile on their face. It's MADNESS! 4 more days... just 4 more days...

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

REGULUS: delete the spaces in the address thats the problem. http://img2 .freeimagehosting.net/ima ge.php?1d117ceaa5.jpg

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Who here agrees that once this matter is resolved at 12:01 on July 21st, everyone who watches the comments section's hearts will go into overload and they will faint due to excitement? I might, but I'm determined not to: I'm bringing a flashlight so I can read on the way home because my mom won't let me read all night *grumble*. Oh well, I'll read under my blankets until I get caught (or until I'm allowed to get up^_^).

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

We all know it's fake. Even if it's not (and that's a big IF), why don't we all just cry ourselves a river, then build a bridge and get over it? That seems like the best course of action to me. 1384 comments and counting? It's pathetic.

Posted by Blue_Banana Jul 16th 2007

Snape is talking to Voldemort of Dumbledore's death, that's my knuts worth.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

If you're still here, post somthing, it's creepy being the only poster; I've posted 3 times in a row, good God!

Posted by arianna Jul 16th 2007

Ha! So much for mugglenet's so called 'no spoiler' policy I thought they weren't going to be posting this sort of stuff? It all looks fake to me and I didn't read all of it. It could be real, it is hard to tell. But what all this has done has encouraged people here to post links that reveal more and more info and some of it (if not all) could be the real deal. That is spoiling it. Mugglenet should know that the majority aren't gonna be able to resist clicking over the hidden parts and pasting the links into their browsers to take a peak. I realise that mugglenet can't control their viewers, but by putting this story up in the first place, they are going back on their 'vow' not to show any spoilers, even if it is uncertain of the authenticity. I'm a tad disappointed. Mugglenet are usually so informative of the important stuff, that I was surprised they posted this up. As I said, it is encouraging others to spoil it all.

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

lol Eviegrl you're not the only poster!

Posted by fallingstars Jul 16th 2007

oooh - interesting! lol. I have no willpower whatsoever so I instantly highlighted the words....doesn't give anything away though (if it turns out to be true) so take a sneak peak!!

Posted by Regulus_Black Jul 16th 2007

Eviegrl941 , yeah - but it really freaked me out! I sounded so accurate, lol. MissMalfoy, thankyou! That one worked, and it looks really similar to the scan of some pages in the spoiler I saw, so thankyou! I feel alot better now :) Blue_Banana - yeah, that's what i reckon... - it it's real: I think it's fake - it doesn't sound like JK. The language just isn't right, and its not like her to go straight into speach and actions without setting the scene, and all the punctuation was wrong.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Well, I was, no one was posting anything and I was starting to worry that you'd all actually listened to sense and left without saying anything. That would not seem like the MuggleNet fans I've been fighting with for a day now.

Posted by Sectumbumprahaha Jul 16th 2007

No evieg, somewhere up the order of comments here some people said some stuff n i'm just clearing it up.. And Lol, i know it seems out of place... Cheers my fellow hp fan... Anyone, mail me the stuff on kreddy666@yahoo.com

Posted by MissMalfoy Jul 16th 2007

No problem regulus. it made me feel a lot better as well :) especially because i was beginning to think it was real. but now i know that its not. *sighs with relief*

Posted by Kloax Jul 16th 2007

12/f/ca

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

I'm so bored of this, but I need to know what other posters are saying. That's why I've been here with you guys since 6:30 in the morning: I'm HOOKED, it's scary, spoilers have a mind control power and that's how we got so many comments.

Posted by Eviegrl941 Jul 16th 2007

Kloax-- What are you talking about "12/f/ca"? Or who were you talking to? That makes no sense.

Posted by Kloax Jul 16th 2007

Yeah my friend makes no sence.Srry=P

Posted by Sarah_Louise Jul 16th 2007

i do not think any of this is real. at all.

Posted by Kloax Jul 16th 2007

Again before I go to sleep....Proof that those pictures can be faked and most likely they are not real! http://img2.free imagehosting.net/image.ph p?1d117ceaa5.jpg (dele te the spaces between the letters in the link)

Posted by alisadragoon Jul 16th 2007

It sickens me to think that people would actually create fake copies of the book to trick innocent fans.

Don't be silly, Dawlish. I'm sure you are an excellent Auror, I seem to remember you achieved 'Outstanding' in all your N.E.W.T.s, but if you attempt to — er — 'bring me in' by force, I will have to hurt you.
