Deathly Hallows already in the hands of librarians
Deathly Hallows already in the hands of librarians To whet your taste buds, check out this photo depicting a few Deathly Hallows boxes sitting in a Charleston library.

According to this article, librarians received special permission to open the boxes early for cataloging. The books are not allowed to be placed on display until July 21st.

Thanks to Jeffrey for the tip!

It's the nargles... they're all to blame. Mariatc: I hope you enjoy the book! I can't wait, it's so close! We should eat cheesecake while we read it! Or attempt to anyways.... knowing me I'll be so absorbed in it the fork won't get to my mouth... it'll kinda get half way and the cheesecake will fall off the fork and plop into my lap. ^_^

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

Germany doesn't even get the translated version until October 27th and Sweden doesn't get it November 21rst and they're getting it way before Africa will and plus I'm sorry mariatc but did you preorder this because if you did then you probably will be getting it in English but no other countries are gonna get van loads to a library in a country that doesn't even speak English. cause the last time i heard morocco doesn't speak in english and Africa won't get the books till like next year.

Posted by mariatc Jul 15th 2007

lol i am actual;ly going to eat cheesecake! not kidding! with my freind one day before we are going to cook hp food, loke butter beer, pumpkin cookies, treacle fudge...etc. Basically all of the recipes mugglenet has, 'Madame Rosmerta's Recipes'. But also, cheesecake. :) ill be back in half an hour guys going out for dinner ;)

Posted by mariatc Jul 15th 2007

hallowsaint: no i didnt preorder it...im going to a midnight release in a bookstore here called Crisol, thats like the equivalent of Borders in the US...I dont knwo if morrocco is getting the book, but all of latin amereica is getting the english version on the 21st, and even though english isnt our first languange, there is a lot of people that speak english. maybe the book is released in afrcia on the 21st, but in english. becasue even though the main languange in africa or in latin america is english, there is still people that speak english...lol

what an advantage it is to be a librarian! i work as a librarian's assiatant in my local library, but we don't get our copies of HP7 until the 21st.

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

no but they're not supposed to go to other countries besides english speaking ones and certain Latin American countries (i saw that on Bloomsbury) but Africa isn't and i read that they won't get the book until early 2008 when the fifth movie comes out there.

Please stop posting spoilers I beg all of you! :'(

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

well as long as we all keep the cheesecake oath then none of this spoiler nonsense you speak of will happen.....but there are some(sectumpoopoo) who want to spoil the fun for everyone.

Posted by mariatc Jul 15th 2007

Time to suck up to your librarian!!

Posted by ginerva_weasley Jul 15th 2007

these have to be the best forgeries i've seen in a long time. though the fact that it ended 25 pages early ruins the credibility. and you'd think after going through so much trouble that people would get page counts right... And naming Harry and Ginny's kids albus, james, lily, ron, severus, among others was a bit cheesy. All in all, a rather bad effort at forgery. Though, by comparison, amazing.

Posted by snapeward777 Jul 15th 2007

Stop teasing us!!!

Posted by babert Jul 15th 2007

*******************SPOILE R WARNING****************** ********* I am a librarian at Barnes and Noble. I read the epilogue. Turns out Harry is gay for Ron. Voldy get down with Albus. And Sirius is a woman. Ginny and Mr.Weasely and Scabbers get down with it. Also Harry's genitals are the horcruxes. He has to cook them into a stew and make Hermione slurp the stew to destroy them. Also Hagrid does Aragog. The picture at the top of the chapter is Trelawney using a strap on with a Blast Ended Skrewt. Sorry for ruining the book for you.

Posted by juliebug1997 Jul 15th 2007

Let's hope that no crazy Harry Potter fan attacks the librarian and steals one of the books. Or that the hateful, mean librarian doesn't post the ending on the internet. This is putting the security of the book at risk.

Posted by greenray Jul 15th 2007

I do work at a library, actually the building where all books are processed before going out to the different branches so I will be able to see the book before the actual date but there is NO WAY I am going to read it. Part of the fun, especially now, is the waiting and excitement until Saturday Midnight when I will be purchasing my own copy to read. But having the books in the building will be very exciting since everything gets dropped to process the books for the 1500+ holds (including audio versions).

Posted by ginerva_weasley Jul 15th 2007

babert - im all for fun and games, but come on, we've got little kids on here.

Posted by babert Jul 15th 2007

im only eight years old, mrs.ginerva_weasley

Posted by sashp Jul 15th 2007

The librarian at the library in which I volunteer told me all about the forms she had to sign to show she could be trusted with the books, but she doesn't deserve to be entrusted with them because she hates Harry Potter. Eh!

Posted by greenray Jul 15th 2007

Librarians are professionals and hold Masters Degrees in Library and Information Science. It would be so wrong to spoil the excitement for our patrons by releasing information about the book AND against the author’s wishes too.

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

librarians are all about books and the love of books.....they want children to grow up reading books and so they would never spoil anything for anyone...they just love reading and books and the reader too much for that.

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

however evil they seem.......but that's not to say that some assistant may not steal one or two or look cause that'll probably happen

Posted by ILuvHP4Ev3rr Jul 15th 2007

OMG!! less than a week!! aaaaah!!!

Posted by deathly_hallows_777 Jul 15th 2007

OMG I CANT WAIT~!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by SteffieSnape Jul 15th 2007

Shut up, babert, you are not 8 years old. You're a moron who has a bad sense of humor. I seriously doubt an 8 year old has a mind like yours. It's fine to be funny and exaggerate the nonsense of all these stupid spoilers, but writing crude and sick things is over the line. There ARE children who read these comments, so keep it clean, geez.

Posted by hallowsaint Jul 15th 2007

hey steffiesnape you want some cheesecake?

Posted by mweasley721 Jul 15th 2007

Wow, I saw the picture and was like "HEY IT'S OPEN! NOT FAIR" and then continued to actually READ the bulletin, haha. Silly me~ all wound up because of the release!

Posted by mariatc Jul 15th 2007

yeah Babert! Dont post stupid stuff like that or we'll kill you by shooting you with cheesecake.

Posted by SteffieSnape Jul 15th 2007

Heck yeah I want some cheesecake! Let's eat cheesecake together and take out all these spoilsports and sickos. I'm seriously considering trying out some of Rosmerta's recipes and bringing them to the midnight release party. That would be fun! It'll be neat at Borders this year, they're doing some Hallows Ball thing. Probably similar to all the others but we'll see. Man, I soooooo want some butterbeer and pumpkin pasties and treacle fudge and cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs and licorice wands and maybe some fire whiskey? Hahaha... maybe I'll just stick with the simple stuff, eh? Yum!

Posted by SteffieSnape Jul 15th 2007

I'll be back later fellow cheesecakeians. I'm in the middle of a fierce battle. Er... meaning I'm playing Call of Duty 3 with my boyfriend on xbox 360. It's so fun! Help yourselves to some cheesecake while I'm gone :)

Posted by ginerva_weasley Jul 15th 2007

stefflesnape - call fo duty is SOOOO much better on the Wii. just saying...

XDDddd I AM SO GLAD I work at the library.. hahahah

Posted by kwkniest Jul 15th 2007

has anybody noticed that is says RLB edition on it? what does that mean?

Posted by i_loverz_HP Jul 15th 2007

OMGGGG no way thats amazing i CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND im so glad its almost here. i just cant wait until i look at the book its gonna be a miracle.

Posted by justinbanger Jul 15th 2007

i work in a pretty big library and we ordered 75 copies and we're having the whole midnight party where people can check out there reserved books. So we have to have all the books wrapped and labeled and in the system by then. I was pretty excited to see the books unpacked, i even got to hold one. We keep them locked in the bosses office.

RLB Reinforced Library Binding

Posted by iheartmugglecast Jul 16th 2007

Man, if I was a librarian I would so just sneak a peek at the books... it would be so hard not to!

Posted by SteffieSnape Jul 16th 2007

ginerva_weasley: Actually, I prefer 360 version because we play online. I've tried the Wii version, it's pretty neat but it's a pain.... and you can't play online. When I am in the mood for killing I don't mess around... I mean business, haha. Ah, there's nothing so satisfying as blowing someone up with a rifle grenade or running them over with a jeep. (I'm talking about playing Call of Duty 3 for those of you who think I'm some serial killer)

Posted by Boredvie Jul 16th 2007

hahah im pretty sure the librarians have read some of it by "accident"

Posted by SteffieSnape Jul 16th 2007

I don't know why, but it makes me sooooooooo mad to know that libraries have special permission to open the boxes early and that some people are reading it already, even if they are just sneaking peaks! Why can't they just open the boxes saturday morning and then not rent them out until monday or something? Grrrrrrrr! It's just not fair. They should have to wait until midnight like everyone else! You know darn well that they read as much as they could without getting caught. Those books should have been individually sealed or something and not to be opened until saturday if they have to "catalog" them. What rubbish, grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Posted by ref525 Jul 16th 2007

UUUUgh, i got spoiled. Some one posted pics of the last chapter on facebook. BE CAREFUL GUYS. Like stay off face book or myspace til the book comes out.

Posted by Jenny_Wren Jul 16th 2007

5 more days...!! jeez... seems so unreal, doesn't it? i think someone on here named Cooper mentioned being 12 when he started on HP and now being 21, and thats the same for me. I picked up a harry book when I was 12 and I just turned 21. ref525 you said someone posted something on facebook?? i'm one of the weak ones, i'll take a spoiler. hell, i'll take anything. i'm potter hungry!! not to mention hungry for cheesecake after reading all those random posts, you guys are so weird. i kinda love it

Posted by pshorty Jul 16th 2007

I've never wanted to be a librarian so bad in my entire life. Nor have I felt this strong sense of jealousy for them! Who knew librarians would be the envy of the world... At least for a week.
