Deathly Hallows already in the hands of librarians
According to this article, librarians received special permission to open the boxes early for cataloging. The books are not allowed to be placed on display until July 21st.
Thanks to Jeffrey for the tip!

Geez, they're putting spoilers on facebook and myspace now? Um, like the entire world is either on myspace or facebook... and I'm on both! AHH! Oh well, I've already seen the other spoilers, they can't get much worse I expect. I just keep telling myself it's all garbage and when I finally have the book in my hands all will be bliss and the spoilers will be a thing of the past.... and fakes :) Hopefully. Now for some cheesecake...
It's official - DH has been leaked onto the Internet (most of it, anyway). Someone has photographed over 400 pages of it, all with unique chapter art and JKR-like writing. It's real. I think it's terrible, and I'm not reading any of the photographed pages (except the epilogue, which I've already read). I do know about several of the deaths, though, from coming across comments at LiveJournal accidentally. UGH. I hate being spoiled. If any of you want to read the book now, go to the LJ community 'spoil_me_dh'.
oh man, i'm shaking with the anticipation! it's too long!!! but too soon too...
!!!!! I've never been so excited. They're there. Harry Potter, everybody, everything, it's happened, it's done, we just don't know it yet. GAH! I'm sad now.
lol, dont open till 21st but the top one is open
It's ironic how the boxes say 'Do Not Open' and yet it's open.
Hey people, order of the phoenix has already been released in africa. In south africa, where i come from the movie was released on the eleventh, at midnight, on imax and other theatre screens across the country. Also, english one of our eleven official languages and the book is going to be released here on saturday morning, same as everywhere else. Even still, amazon and other online book shops are delivering the books even to african states where the book's translation will only be released next year... So no naiving months for any release, harry will be here be in on big screen or the last book at precisely the same time its released worldwide
I'm a librarian and I've read it . It's really terrible . Voldemort dies because he slips over a banana peel and falls through the veil. Harry dies because Uncle Vernon gets a little over excited and shoots him with a gun that he gets from one of his friends. Ron and Hermione both die too, they die like Romeo and Juiliet, both killing themselves because they think the other is dead. I'm sorry to spoil the book for all of you, but honestly the book is so bad that it's not even worth reading and yeah I'm joking ( obviously )
I was walking out of the bathroom of my local Barnes and Noble and the warehouse door was open! I peeked in and saw the boxes . . . the beautiful shining boxes! 4 MORE DAYS!
AAAAAAHHHH I'm so excited! Can't wait . . . 4 more days! I'm glad I don't work in a library, the temptation would be too much for me . . .
OK, will I get arrested for breaking into a library and stealing a copy of DH? I sure hope not, because I swear, I am sooo tempted to do that right now! Holy smokes, the top box is already open. Wow. 3 words, Librarians. Are. Lucky. Hmm, now that I think about it, maybe I'll get a job at a library before Sat.... Ugh! Stupid weekend, hurry up already!!! I've already become a hermit, and I am currently attempting to decorate my room black so I can mourn the loss of whoever dies.. The only site I will go on is Mugglenet. I'm not going on my cell, reading the newspaper, ANYTHING! God, why can't Sat. come already!!!?!?!? Ugh!!!! Four days of positive agony! Oh man, I am soooo going to Barnes and Noble 'bout, oh, 5 hrs. early. ~Crookshanks~
snds good except im quit worried about the top box being open dun dun dunnnnnnnnn
Oh man, the spoilers are pouring in fast! Some idiots actually believe all those fake epilogues and prologues..phht. dawnsong7-OMG! Lucky, lucky, lucky! If that was me, I would've gotten caught reading the book. But then again maybe not...I was thinking of breaking into a library, but that didn't work because burglary isn't really my thing... ~Crookshanks~
I have a question for all of you.......WHY ARE YOU READING THE DANG SPOILERS!!!!!!!! We only have 4 days left (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAAAAAYAA AAAYAAAAAY!!!!!!!) While I am just as (If not more) anxious and excited as everyone else on this website, I don't want to cry until I actually read the book. Am I the only one who is determined to believe that Sirius(The best charactor ever!!!!) is still alive??????
hey, can i have a link to that epilogue please????? I want to know what you people are talking about!!!!!!
pottersweasle722- You don't want a link. They are soooo completely stupid its not funny. Well, actually, it is funny. And No, I don't believe Sirius is alive. If he turns out to be-my apologizes. And we aren't meaning to read the spoilers-it happens on accident! ~Crookshan ks~
I work at a library and it sucks how we're really not allowed to read them. :( I'm glad I don't handle processing b/c it would be like torture to have to, you know, put plastic on the cover and stick in the barcode and stuff without peeking... but there're really strict rules like you can't be alone with them. LOL.
OK, as someone who actually works for this library system, and only found out because I saw a link to the article on LJ that we had it: 1. We do have to open the boxes to catalog the books. There is a dummy record for the book right now, but the catalogers have to put an entry for each copy into that record, plus put in barcodes and pockets on each copy. So, yup, that will take time, and does mean we have to open the boxes in advance to do that. It's like Amazon will have to do that when they ship the book, for example. 2. Sorry, those of us at the branches won't see them until Friday, probably, since we don't get shipment on Saturday. Of course, we can't route them in for the holds until Saturday morning (which I'll be doing at my branch, since I'm working that day and handle new books, rah!). We're waiting to hear about the exact procedures on our end - I just asked my manager about it this morning. 3. BTW, library staff weren't allowed to put on holds for the book until the original batch were spoken for - any staff holds were deleted before then. They've done this for the last two books. So, any staffers who didn't buy it elsewhere are actually the LAST to get to read our copies, since they'll be under lock and key until then (at least for the branch staffers and anyone at Main who's not in Tech Services - the departments there are kept apart). (g)
OH MY GOSH. SHUT UP WITH THE SPOILERS. So far I've read on her so many contradicting things...just SHUT UP until the freakin book comes out!

I hardly ever buy books (tight budget), so I borrow HP books from the library. When HBP came out, I was on near the top of the hold list for the book, but the library only had it catalogued four days after the release date, plenty of time for my youngger brother to find out what happens and spoil it for me. It would be great if my library got it early so I can read it on the 21st.
OMG lazydj18 how could u try and spoil the book for everyone, ur just one of those people that try and ruin it fr the goody goody kids, who wait our turn like everyone else so stop trying to post the spoilers yet i doubt they are actually legitimate
theyre legitimate, ask me who dies then b**ch at me after u read it, lol
STRIPE SHUT UP. READ THE SPOLIER SIGN, I'VE BEEN WAITING 6 YEARS FOR THIS.
Wow I never thought i would wanna be a librairian. (dont even think i can spell it tight) lol
@pottersweasle722. Are you TRULY sure you want to read the epilogue? Because it's actually the real deal.
My mum's a librarian. But it's a college campus library. I don't think that I've ever wished that she was a public librarian until now.
I work at a public library (in the receiving department) and we received our copies today! After processing, they'll be going into a hiding spot only a couple of us know about, until Saturday morning. They won't even hit the shelves, as we have a few dozen holds for them already. I, personally, am waiting to get mine at midnight so I can start reading it as soon as I can. (Yes, I have touched them and even opened them, as I have to process them, but I'm not giving out any information other than that. You wouldn't believe the paperwork signed to promise they wouldn't go out early or leave our processing department.) I was suprised to see the outside of the box was marked Harry Potter books, do not open until July 21." I would have thought they'd have come up with a code name or something to use, like they do for movies. I mean, isn't that just waiting for somebody to steal the boxes?
I love how the boxes say "DO NOT OPEN" and yet two of them have already been cut open.
Three more days! *squeak!* I've managed to avoid spoilers but I don't know how much more of this I can take!!!!!!!!! *smashes forehead into keyboard* Okay, I might be able to wait another day. I plan on being in que for the book at 8pm.
I've never wanted to be a librarian so bad in my life...
