Scholastic tracks down Deathly Hallows leak
The US book publisher has issued a statement this morning which reveals where a leak of Deathly Hallows occurred:We are taking immediate legal action against DeepDiscount.com and Levy Home Entertainment. The number of copies shipped is around one one-hundredth of one percent of the total U.S. copies to go on sale at 12:01 am on July 21st.

Scholastic has recently learned that some individuals have received copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows through the mail , beginning on Tuesday, July 17th, as a result of a breach of the on-sale agreement by the distributor, Levy Home Entertainment, and shipments made by DeepDiscount.com, a customer of that distributor. We are taking immediate legal action against DeepDiscount.com and Levy Home Entertainment. The number of copies shipped is around one one-hundredth of one percent of the total U.S. copies to go on sale at 12:01 am on July 21st.
We are also making a direct appeal to the Harry Potter fans who bought their books from DeepDiscount.com and may receive copies early requesting that they keep the packages hidden until midnight on July 21st.
Scholastic is especially grateful to the other retailers and distributors for their careful attention to keeping the books secure until the release time and for planning thousands of spectacular midnight parties where fans will celebrate together. And we ask everyone, especially the media, to preserve the fun and excitement for fans everywhere.
The fans themselves have made it abundantly clear that they are looking forward to going to the midnight parties, receiving their very own copy of the book and finally getting to read the book they have so anxiously awaited.

I'm still mad the book leaked. I mean, it's such a high-profile book that no matter how much security they put on it, it's still going to get out. But I saw a couple of those images thinking they were only going to be pictures of the cover, and I saw 2 chapter titles that I wish I hadn't seen. It's not that big of a deal because I didn't see anything that surprised me, but still. OMG GUYZ I KNO H00 DIEZ!!!!!!!! ITZ DA GIANT SQUID HE DIEZ TRYNA SAVE DOBBY FROM VOLDEMORT'S UNWANTED ADVANCES!!!!!!!! Then Harry takes a job with the IRS and ruins Voldemort's life for not paying taxes. My point was someone is going to ruin for someone else whether it is now or after the book is released. It is not releasing the same time for everyone so some people are going to get it before others. Some people read faster than others. So by the time I get it, someone could have it read and posted. If you don't want spoilers good luck because it is going to be all over the place regardless. I think it is ridiculous that people are calling for an entire company, with lots of innocent employees, be sued and shut down over a shipping error. I also think that these people who are like "oh there is no way they are real because no one got one till a couple of days ago" are delusional, as they have been at bookstores, distribution centers, and libraries for a week or more now. out of 12 million someone is going to get it read first and post stuff. I am still going to try to NOT find out if I can, but I am not going to wish a company out of business over it.

Although I have been spoiled somewhat, I have only seen bits and pieces of the book, only seeing and knowing knew things. I haven't seen enough to put a plot together or come to any conclusion. But seeing these makes me, for some reason, even more excited for the book, maybe because now It has become a physical thing to me!
