PRESS RELEASE:
Scholastic has recently learned that some individuals have received copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows through the mail , beginning on Tuesday, July 17th, as a result of a breach of the on-sale agreement by the distributor, Levy Home Entertainment, and shipments made by DeepDiscount.com, a customer of that distributor. We are taking immediate legal action against DeepDiscount.com and Levy Home Entertainment. The number of copies shipped is around one one-hundredth of one percent of the total U.S. copies to go on sale at 12:01 am on July 21st.
We are also making a direct appeal to the Harry Potter fans who bought their books from DeepDiscount.com and may receive copies early requesting that they keep the packages hidden until midnight on July 21st.
Scholastic is especially grateful to the other retailers and distributors for their careful attention to keeping the books secure until the release time and for planning thousands of spectacular midnight parties where fans will celebrate together. And we ask everyone, especially the media, to preserve the fun and excitement for fans everywhere.
The fans themselves have made it abundantly clear that they are looking forward to going to the midnight parties, receiving their very own copy of the book and finally getting to read the book they have so anxiously awaited.

like i said noone will no if its true or not until midnight/saturday morning....cheers to all have fun reading the book, not the spoilers!
Thesilentcat, Lol, no, I've not posted anything. It's not a matter so much of wanting them to be true or not. It's a matter of accepting what is reality. If the real thing's leaked, it has been. That doesn't take away from what it is. It will still be what it is Saturday when people pick it up and read it. I would say that there are plenty of people who *want* it to not be true. You seem to be one of them. That's fine._______________My point is simply that, well to me its silly to not want it to be real. The people who scanned it - if its real, that is - aren't spoiling anyone. People spoil it for themselves - and not just by looking at the spoilers. These piraters or whatever they are only have as much power over us as we give them. And I am not just talking about reading the spoilers. I am talking about the attitude people take. As I read these comments, I see so many people who will be so upset if the scanned version is the real thing, yet if this was never leaked, these people would probably like or love it Saturday morning. However, because they just *have* to have it not be real, they have to look for problems, to see all that is bad about it... they spoil it for themselves, first by reading about it, and then by setting their minds so against it that if it turns out to be real, they will already have a prejudice - it will be tainted._________________ ________It is what it is. If it's real, it's real. If it's not, it's not. That doesn't add to or take away from the real thing. All it means is that some folks have read the thing early. Someone might disapprove - which is fine! - but to reject it *just* because its leaked - that just ruins it for oneself.
PLEASE people do not read the new-york times reveiw, my co-workers have read it nd it tells everything, even wut the deathly hallows are! DONT READ IT...thanks....midnight of the morning of the 21'st is coming soon!
Ahhh, i was on here earlier, when jerkyasshole was on here..seems you guys got rid of him...HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!
does any1 know if the spoilers at zendurl r real
SnapesArmy - so far as I know - on very reliable information - the spoilers on that site do not even match the scanned edition from which it claims to take them, or at least not all of them. Some of the chapter "summaries" there are supposed to be accurate, but the other stuff is nonsense, I am told.
we are investigating zendurl, good question if they're real. i HOPE the are not, nd i WANT to not be. but if they r, im not sure yet.
IS THE EPILOUGE REAL
Some of what is on the Zendurl site is true while some isn't.
Thesilentcat - can I ask you why it's your job to make sure its not real? When you say it's your job, or that you are investigating the site, is this just something you have taken on yourself for the benefit of yourselves and/or others, or are you actually employed by someone? I'm just curious because you keep mentioning it and, well, I'm curious lol, that's all =)
the epilougue looks real, but we r trying to prove it otherwise....but the last sentence seems phony
wow hedwigdiespg56 you are an evil person. I read the book already, so you can't spoil me, but it is incredibly evil to run around spoiling it for everyone else.
we are all going crazy ... you know i read in a article it was so rude.. they said when people read the harry potter book and when theyre done, there would be a 10% increase in suicide that week.... cmon we arnt that crazy. right?
The epilogue is real
omg..i doubt it...i didnt kill myself when sirius died..sure i cried for 2 days straight..but i didnt kill myself..i dont think people are THAT stupid..i hope not.
i have been employed in a PRIVATE investigation company that does differen't works of investigating to prove things right from wrong, as right now its fact from fiction...my companies job now is HP 7 spoilers.
Without all this talk of spoilers and non-spoilers, let's not forget that Harry Potter isn't just about who dies and who lives and who kills who. To do so would be to undermine - and rather insult all Rowling has written in the past decade. I have not read any "spoilers," but have read at my computer for the past six hours, squinting my eyes at the computer. How do I know this is "real?" Simply because no one has the distinct style that Rowlings has. And no one could have possibly came up with such a satisfying answer to every question. And no one could have written such an exhilirating novel, other than our dear Ms. Rowling. My advice - avoid summaries and sentences in capital letters, proclaiming what has happened. If you simply cannot wait, read the entire (e) novel from beginning to end. Well, that is, if you can suffer the splitting headache resulting from staring at a computer screen for uncanny long periods of time. I shall still be purchasing my copy of the Deathly Hallows and am eager to take a second reading this saturday. The tale is thrilling. Enjoy.
I Couldn't have said it any better than anniebelle330 did.
YES, the leaked Epilogue is real. No, I'm not really thrilled with the Epilogue either...but the end of the book itself was more than satisfactory. NO, the spoilers posted on Zemurl about who dies is NOT real. SOME what is posted on Zemurl on the chapter summaries is real, some isn't. Face it, the scanned/photo version is real. The book is good, too good to be a fake. Plus, photoshopping 759 pages of text is impractical...there is no way it could be done...unless by Rowling and the publisher themselves. Also, practically, there is no way the entire story line could be changed for the "real version." The book is real, face it. Spoiler reviews are cropping up everywhere. YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET YOUR ENDING RUINED. Either download the pdf and read it RIGHT NOW (of course being sure to get the "real" version for your bookshelf anyway) or get off the computers, unplug your radios and TV's and become a hermit for the next few days.
anniebell330 is a good HP role model!
I've been on Gaia for well over three years, and I've been well into the thick of things this time around on the battle against those trolls posting spoilers. I have lost count of the number of people I have reported and had their spoilers removed from threads, including mine. After one of my threads today resulted in the same person posting the same massive spoiling thread (laden with pictures) three times in a row, I declared unofficial war on them. Any spoilers I see I wll make sure will get removed. I could take the easy way out and choose the "ignore" option on Gaia, but then I could not see who would be ruining it for other people and try and protect them, right? I'm just sick of all of this....they've gone from simply posting spoilers unawares, to using misleading thread titles, to using misleading links, to using *dangerous* links that not only are full of spoilers but freeze your computer, to posting spoilers in their signatures. They do it to hurt and disappoint, and get attention. At least one person should attempt to fight back.
Call me Peter Pettigrew: I have no resolve, no defense when it comes to supporting my friends. I'm on page 89 of the book.
"Call me Peter Pettigrew: I have no resolve, no defense when it comes to supporting my friends. I'm on page 89 of the book"-------------------- -----what?
Meaning, I should have died rather than read the book early. But here I am, reading it in another window. CONSTANT VIGILANCE! I wish you guys all show more resolve than myself, as there are only a couple days left. Be wary of spoilers, as they may very well be real. All I ask is that you Mugglenetters be careful and not fall into Voldemort's ways: you must all choose between what is easy, and what is right.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! SilentCat, you are a jackass. "This is my job". You will not come here after the release and say you were wrong, will you, coward? I saw an early mailed copy from a local guy who got one and took it to the newspaper. (I saw HIS copy, not a photo on TV). Check the pages, they are the same. LOL. The scanned copy spoiler pages listed in other posts ARE REAL!!! Sorry to say, but the genie is out of the bottle. You have been shown how publishers and booksellers list a different page count EVERYWHERE than that of the last page writing occurs on, but you choose to ignore that fact. You are lucky your dumb butt doesn't work for me....The Zendul spoilers are not all real, but the epilogue there is. And, the spoilers about which characters die on which page, the Daethly Hallows being the sword of Gryffindor and the other 2 artifacts, Harry and Ginny having 3 kids (James, Lilly, and Albus Severus), Ron and Hermione having two kids, and all the rest are true. Dumbledore is a silent spirit, but still present. Harry kills Voldemort. Fred Weasley dies. Mad-Eye, Lupin, Tonks all die. Harry kills Voldemort. It has all been posted here, eh? REad, ignore if you will. We will see who is posting in two days about "I told you so", and who is crying in their soup.
Hedwig stop posting spoilers plz!
I'll get right on that, Xceptional. You can be sure of that. Oh, and I'm not posting, I'm merely reposting what hasa already been posted in this thread already :) But, yeah, since you are the boss of me, I'll do what you say...
I'm so glad to see that legal action is being taken against those who sold the book beforehand. All of the booksellers who Are following the rules ought to be commended.
I'm glad Scholastic found out who distributed the books early. That git of a distributor needs to pay for this! I suggest Azkaban. =]
this is soooooo messsed up i mean it is rude to spoil a book that someone is wanting to read and enjoy and i think grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (it makes me mad ) well i hope none of the 3 charachters i like the most die
yesssss, yeeeessssss.....we must bask in the sweetness of holy cheesecake and swim in its cheesey contents, then eat, yes, eat its cakey tasteyness...we will let it course thorough our bodies, casting our random fantasies away...and our enemies will beat us senseless with cats, but we will feel only melted cheesecakeyness and laugh, LAUGH and they will burn, BURN.
