I, for one, agree with Jo. What they did is copyright infringement, and she has every right to sue. It's not for the money, more like the principle. If she allows this, then the next time someone does this, and it is for profit, they'll say, "Well, you didn't sue them!" I understand this because I'm an author, too, and if someone did a model of my characters or one of my settings, I'd be madder than a hornet. The difference between fanfics and this is that fanfics all take place on authorized sites. I remember a few years ago there was a Harry Potter website, and WB asked them to take down their site because permission wasn't given. All the fanfic websites are authorized. Places that make the Harry Potter birthday cakes and sell Harry Potter costumes... authorized. Nothing is done without permission. Go Jo! I hope you win your case.
