Yeah that's how i feel Richard Harris was most certainly Dumbledore, he acted like Dumbledore and even sounded like Dumbledore. When i first saw the movies, and RH was Dumbledore it was like i was seeing the character of Dumbledore i read about on the screen.

hey hpfanx! ha on thursday i was doing this project presentation for hinduism in world history and we did a play and i had to put necklaces on this weird blue baby doll that was supposed to be a god and everyone got quiet to watch and when i put it on the doll fell down and knocked the plate of food and necklaces i was suppossed to be feeding it and everyone started laughing and i didn't know why it was funny. so yeah. weird. the blue doll was creepy too, but not really.

I can understand from the "movies getting darker" view how they can't have Dumbledore in flamboyant purple robes, but at least when they visit Slughorn in HBP, Dumbledore (well, actually when he picks up Harry, but assuming he doesn't change in between) is said to be wearing a black traveling cloak. "There in the doorway stood a tall, thin man with waist-length silver hair and beard. Half-moon spectacles were perched on his crooked nose, and he was wearing a long black traveling cloak ..."

QUESTION! It's not a big deal or anything, but Is it me or does it look like they are using a double for Michael Gambon? Only a couple of the pics look like Michael G. but the others (the ones where he is smoking) doesn't really look like him? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me or something, i dont know.

That's a body double for Michael Gambon. If you click on the pictures you'd see that it wasn't Sir Gambon smoking. Also, from the reports from Leaky, Dan also had a body double too. I think the reports said that the doubles shot some footage together, and then Dan and Sir Gambon showed up and filmed some of the scenes too. Also, let's not make these comments into a "who's the better Dumbledore?" debate. It's been about 6 years now since Richard Harris passed, and 5 years since Sir Gambon took on the role. I really think fans need to calm down and enjoy how they make up Dumbledore, considering these final two movies are supposed to show a deeper side to the man.

Coleygirl, to answer your question #2, that "sock" is to cover his beard when they're not shooting scenes. To protect it from damage. It's so that nothing will get on it, and also so that it won't mess up. The beard's fake, and it's fixed how they want it, so they don't need it to get messed up when not filming...because I believe it takes time to fix hair, especially fake facial hair, how they want it.

Yeah it has been a long time since Michael Gambon, got selected as the new DD so i am used to it now. I wasn't at first, but now it doesn't bother me at all, and the reason is like hermet crab said cause we see the deeper sides of DD.

Am I the only one seriously elated in the fact that Dan's hair is FINALLY just right for the first time since POA? In Stone and Chamber, his hair was like a bob almost...Year 4 it was too long, Year 5 too short and dorky... Year 6 it looks almost cool haha. Scenes look cool, can't wait for this movie. I really loved the book, as I do all of them, and so this should be a great movie to watch. Yates is a very good director also. :).

Yes, that's Gambon's double that's smoking (Daniel has a double, too? Cool!). I know why there's a pillowcase over the beard, but it still looks funny :D
