Ouch obiobi, that stinks. That's the day before my birthday though! :D

Posted by hpfan112 Oct 28th 2007

I am from Greece and the Greek version is coming out next Saturday. I have read it in English of course not only because I couldn’t wait but because the original version is by far better than the translated one. However, I am going to buy the Greek version for my collection and I am definitely not going to miss the release party!!!

Posted by RedFawkes Oct 28th 2007

That totally sucks that they had to wait like 3 months to get it...but at least now we can say whatever about HP 7.

Posted by fell4snape Oct 28th 2007

Aw, they had to wait so long...:( Oh well, it's over now-yay French & German fans! :D I'm German myself and I speak some French, though I'm American..:p

Posted by Emi_5 Oct 28th 2007

oh my goodenss i don't kow what i would do!!!!! but yeah i'm sure a lot of them have already read it in english....but for the people who can't man i hope it wasn't spoiled for them....but to have it not spoiled for you, you know how long none of them have probably been on mugglenet or any other hp webite..? i don't know what i would do!!!! i did read this one story of a girl who got the book in englsh and she had to sit down and read it with a dictionary beside her so she knew what everyon was talking about!!!!!

Posted by Fawnie Oct 28th 2007

I'm sure some German and French people have read the seventh book in English, so it's not a humongous deal over there, I expect? Except for the children who are not as good as English as the ones who are older and know English better.

mugglecast??? its sunday! what happened?

Posted by xmugglecastismylifex Oct 28th 2007

OMG where's my MuggleCast? I've been checking their homepage like every 10 minutes, and every time I see "Did you come from a Land Down Under?", I'm like screaming! They said Saturday at the latest! *cough* IT'S SUNDAY, PEOPLE!!! *is exasperated*

Posted by ginnypotter719 Oct 28th 2007

if there is even one person on this planet that is a hp fan and didnt read 7 yet but didnt have it spoiled yet either, id be extremely surprised..

Posted by andycaro Oct 28th 2007

This is beside the point, which is sad i agree:), but i wonder if anyone can tell me who the "informant" was that Snape referred to when he was telling Voldy that the Order was no longer trusting the MoM in DH, CH01? Anyone? He said that the information came from the person they had discussed? Who was it? Mundungus maybe?

Posted by hedwig794 Oct 28th 2007

I kno this has nuthin to do with the news but i have been wondering where has mugglecast gone? I was too stupid to check the website but now i did and now I kno that they lost their voices or sumthing.

Posted by Trelawneys_Fan Oct 28th 2007

LOL.... did you guys know that in Spain, Mexico and several other countries Book 7 won't be released until FEBRUARY 2008??!! And people are right about saying that in countries other than USA and England, people don't just speak their country's language. They speak a second or sometimes even a third language.

Posted by twilighttrishh Oct 28th 2007

ugh MuggleCast is soooo slow! how can they like.... stop for 3 weeks, it's ridiculous. my life is ilke ruined without them! WHERE IS MUGGLECAST!?

Posted by sunny_rose Oct 28th 2007

i agree with fell4snape... i'm also german&american, so i didn't have problems reading it, but most of my friends didn't read it in english; i'm really happy i can talk about everything with them now...

Posted by harryprongs22 Oct 28th 2007

wish you a happy time reading the book.

Posted by harryprongs22 Oct 28th 2007

This is something off-topic. can anyone tell me why no new editorials are being posted on mugglenet.

Posted by SugarxSpunxQuill Oct 28th 2007

We've not had a new mugglecast for about 3 weeks! We were promised one if were lucky by friday, but definatly saturday! I take it it's been recorded, but where is it! *cries because she loves MC sooo much*

Posted by xmugglecastismylifex Oct 28th 2007

SugarxSpunxQuill -- *cries with you* I was especially looking forward to this episode, because I wanted to hear what the MCers had to say about the Dumbeldore Debacle. Does anyone here have Pickle Pack, if so, can you tell me what the MCers (espiceally Jamie's

Posted by carpediem1991 Oct 28th 2007

I'm from Mexico, and the Spanish edition doesn't even have a title yet, let alone a release date (they change the title a little to distinguish original copies from pirate ones, which sucks). Everyone I know has read the previous books in English, and, if their English is not very good, they help themselves with a good ol' dictionary. They shouldn't take that long to translate! --- On a completely unrelated note: WHERE IS MUGGLECAST???!!!

Posted by SugarxSpunxQuill Oct 28th 2007

harryprongs22, i noticed that to. I thought they would be queuing up to get thier editorials online, analysing stuff from the new book. But so far theres been, what, 3? Thats about 1 a month.

Posted by cellopower Oct 28th 2007

Oh my gosh. Where IS it? I've listened to Episodes 114, 115, and 116 so many times I practically have them memorized! I am seriously worried.. why would the mugglecasters put it off this long? I realllly want to hear what they have to say about Dumbledore!

Posted by cellopower Oct 28th 2007

Yes, please. Does anyone have pickle pack? My dad wouldn't let me because he says PayPal rips you off. :( But if there's anything posted on there about the newest episode, could anyone please tell us?

Posted by SugarxSpunxQuill Oct 28th 2007

Shall we bombard them with emails asking what they are playing at? LOL (i've sent 2 already!)

Posted by xmugglecastismylifex Oct 28th 2007

cellopower --- WOOT! Power to the cellos (LOL I play too :) ). I've listened to #115 (the last one with Jamie in it, I think), waaaay too many times. I am missing Jamie from MC sooo much!!! How are you guys coping with the loss of our favo(u)rite Brit? *sigh* I guess I should go do h/w or something now, instead of hang out online waiting for MC. Yeahhh, not gonna happen. Back on topic, has anyone finished reading the French HP7? I wanna see what Grindelwald's name is in French! Like Grindelvousawald. HAHA.. kay going now.

Posted by cellopower Oct 28th 2007

xmugglecastismylifex - Oh my gosh! There is someone who plays cello and is obsessed with mugglecast also in this world!? I miss Jamie a lot.. :( And I like how they say Hufflepuff in french.. poofsloof.. or that's how it sounds anyway. (I take spanish not french!) Anyway... sugarxspunxquill - I've already sent them like 4 yesterday. And last week I sent Micah for a transcibers application. :D He hasn't emailed me back though. I doubt he will! :)

Posted by xmugglecastismylifex Oct 28th 2007

Gosh, I've sent about 3 emails already. I don't wanna creep them out though, so I stopped. Seriously, they really need to put something up on their site, like now. If I refresh my MC page, and I see "Do you come from a land down under? Thanks for the memories, that was GOOOOOD FUN!" one more time... *mumbles darkly*. See, I've already like memorized the last post. That's how desperate I am. For all you MuggleCast fan's on mugglenet, go to the AIM chat: mugglecastfan. We're trying to revive the chat! BE THERE! :) I hope I won't get into trouble for being completely off topic... sorry people. Poofsloof so pwns Hufflepuff, I'm calling it that from now on lol.

Posted by gredandfeorgefan Oct 28th 2007

thats nice....now my friend has NO choice but to discuse it with me....MOOHAAAAHHAAAHHHAAA A*cough couGh*HAHA

Posted by jacobs06 Oct 28th 2007

wjhere did MUGGLECAST go!? Are you going lie to us!?...your beloved listeners.

Posted by Gisela Oct 28th 2007

it isn't must more fun to read it in my own language! i'm portuguese and i already read the book in english... i rather read the books in english that in portuguese, the original version is much better!! i only buy the portuguese one because of the fun it is going to the release "party" (is not actually a party but is fun anyway..) =D

Posted by xmugglecastismylifex Oct 28th 2007

*coughMUGGLECASTWHEREAREY OUUUcough* Seriously, I'm getting impatient to the maxx! *sends Andrew a Howler*

Posted by cellopower Oct 28th 2007

Yes, where IS it!? I just got off the comp. for a while.... hoping it would be on now. BUT IT'S NOT!!!

Posted by cellopower Oct 28th 2007

Oh, well. I guess I should stop "stalking" (as Andrew would say) mugglenet and do something else... :(

Posted by The_Princes_Tale Oct 28th 2007

Didn't they say it'd be up by tonight...? Maybe it was my I M A G I N A T I O N. [SpongeBob is my hero.] =] I'm interested on what they'll say about Dumbledore. Intrigue...

Posted by The_Princes_Tale Oct 28th 2007

I feel bad for being of topic. =[ See? It's a sad face. I agree with Gisela. Even if I could read English[and I lived in France], I'd still want the book in my own language.

Posted by SugarxSpunxQuill Oct 28th 2007

Argghhh! Mugglecast, you promised us! Where for art thou Mugglecast?

Posted by SugarxSpunxQuill Oct 28th 2007

Mugglecast, I'm getting worried now. Im pretty sure they didn't just forget. There might be a problem with Andrew's mac!!! Thats why he's not explained on the website! Nooooo!

Posted by grintloverr Oct 28th 2007

congrats for all you french and german people. that was like seriously the best feeling everr

Posted by rooon Oct 28th 2007

Wow! They didn't get the book until yesterday?!

Posted by HProx_my_sox99 Oct 28th 2007

for those people that had to wait so long because they can't read english fluently....dang i would've like exploded waiting! how'd they manage??? and geez where is mugglecast? i think they died...jkjk thats horrible

Posted by fightinirish555 Oct 28th 2007

wow, i feel srry 4 all the people that had 2 wait so long

Posted by themangoblossom Oct 28th 2007

Oh no! It must have been SO spoiled. It would've been cool if they had held all the books until all languages were done. Happy Reading!

Posted by nino_dolohov Oct 28th 2007

Oooooo, I can't wait to read it in French. :)

Posted by Kantharos Oct 29th 2007

really, im glad to have learned english in school...waiting so long for a translation sucks...and by the way...translated potter sucks too....german's not a nice language for that stuff....english is far better...and its quite an easy english, so easy to get the point...mom got me the first potter when i was 14...and had no probs with it....books should always been read in the original language when possible...but yes, its fine to have this thing done :)

Posted by Asphodele Oct 29th 2007

Just because we in France learn start learning english early (generally around 11), it doesn't mean everybody is able to read Deathly Hallows in english !!! I'm now able to read books in english because I'm studying english in university and I'm near fluent, but when I was about 14, I wasn't so good in english, and I tried reading the Goblet of Fire in English : I didn't understand half of it, my mother had to explain everything to me at the end of each chapter, to be sure I'd got everything, and I still didn't manage to read further than Barty Crouch's attack in THREE MONTHS !!! When I had it in French I devoured the end of it, but it just wasn't the same. I've re-read GoF in English since, but I've never been able to fullt appreciate it, all this ruined the fourth book for me ! A lot of my friends don't understand english well enough to read and appreciate Deathly Hallows in english. Mark my words : Englsih and American people may not study any other language, but just because we do study other languages, doesn't mean we can speak them !!!

Posted by Asphodele Oct 29th 2007

Of course, as an english-addict, I have to say the french translation isn't just half as good as the original version, but I think in France A LOT of people couldn't read DH in english, it's not just kids that can't. I don't know about Germany, I think our education system is particularly bad at teaching people foreign languages : most of the people I know that don't study english at the university with me couldn't read a book in english. Plus I don't really agree that the english used by Jo is simple english : it is varied, colourful, imaginative and often idiomatic, in short, it's perfect material for an english lesson, but not so easy to manage on one's own ...

Posted by Kantharos Oct 30th 2007

i have no experience with the french system of education...in germany u start english at the age of about 10...but i agree...a lot of people here wouldn't be able to read an english book too...a lot of my friends read usually english books though but i have to admit that they are generelly students at universities so they had at least 9 years of english at school...i think it has a lot to do with training...i got my first potter for exactly that and the understanding of things increases with every book you read...i've got far more probs with speaking or writing english than with understanding it...buts that's natural i think i read the first potter a few years ago in german....they changed names and lots of stuff in the translation...i really had problems to get the point because so many words were completly new to me...and apart from that it sounded so much like a book for little kids...the complete way they wrote it was awful...i dunno what its like for a natural speaker but for me the english of the first book sounded not like a language for kids at an age of 8 or something...what be great if someone from the uk or usa could say a word to this point cause im not a qualified judge for it...

Posted by brainamp Oct 30th 2007

I'm in Switzerland right now, and I'm pretty sure they already had a french version of the book. And probably a german version too. I went to the bookstore last week and there were stacks of them right in the front of the store.

Posted by bry1663 Nov 2nd 2007

Messing up your hair because you think it looks cool to look like you've just got off your broomstick, showing off with that stupid Snitch, walking down corridors and hexing anyone who annoys you just because you can — I'm surprised your broomstick can get off the ground with that fat head on it. You make me SICK.
