i'm in IB so, it's ALOT every day...gr...let's see, today i had to study for 3 tests, do 14 questions, 14 vocab, read 50 pages....do a math review...(you know about my math crisis right?) i'm failng right now, and if i don't get an A on my geometry test tmrw...i *gulp*...pretty much fail and is DEAD. please wish me luck tomorrow! this weekend's gonna be jam-packed...i have 2 essays...a math project, regular math hw, maps, read 60 pages of novel, questions, vocab.....i hate IB!!!

This has made me INCREDIBLY ANGRY and losing respect for Jo. I now see she HAS been in it for money just4 as much as "for the fans" wasn't Jo giving lexicon a fan site award saying something along the lines of... If it wasn't for hp lexicon she'd have to go look at all the books again, and that this made her process of writing the book easier? the hp lexicon was like a godsend... these people spent years making it all about harry pot5ter, they dedicated time because they were passionate about the books they felt that hp needed a lexicon. You are writing an ecyclopedia of all the information you haven't previously disclosed so write about that!!! lexicon is awesome you should PAY THEM not SEU THEM... for all the hard work they've done, how awesome the website looks. YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!! Just wanting more money. I am angry at you..... So disappointed. This isn't Laura Malory.. this is REAL.

All these people who are angry at Jo, it is just kinda funny. They are HER characters. Period. She has every right to decide what, and when things get published, and who cares if she is doing it for the extra money they are her books. Lexicon is a great site but all the stuff they write on that site is technically hers. So maybe the owner of Lexicon should write their own book instead of cashing in on other peoples ideas.

Huh. I've got to read around about this, because I'm not sure what the difference is between Vander Ark publishing his stuff, and all the other 'unofficial guides' which have come out over the years. So long as he isn't quoting chunks of the books without permission, I fail to see the difference. Even so, what the heck is he playing at trying to get it published as a book? It's a wonderful free resource, it certainly sounds as though he's doing it for the money, much as I would like to think otherwise. I've heard him on Pottercast. I wonder if they'll drop him after this debacle.

There have been many unofficial guides and encyclopedias. Some have been sued. Some have not. But no one ever went to the news media and made a big whooping deal about those suits. Jo never singled those people out on her site. Some of them didn't get sued until after their books had been out for sale for some time. She is treating Steve DIFFERENTLY than she has treated others. That is why I'm not on her side, as much as I dislike the policies of the Lexicon forums.

like just what kind of business i want to start.. im seriouly considering starting a harry potter store business, which would be cool but idk bout that, but i was different ideas to fall back on just incase it wouldnt work, my friend catylin on the volleyball team said that not to do a resturant b/c its really hard.

ahhh ok... yeah a harry potter store would be cool!!! you would have harry potter costumes, wands, art work, decorative house things (book ends, lamps, figurines) jewelry. you could have a kid side where you have more toys and an adult side where you have more art and stuff like that.

mmmhmm. there is soo much i could put in my store, it would be soo easy to do the HPstore. im not sure what to call it tho.. i was thinking "Muggle World" .have any suggestions? lol

The Harry Potter Store, Muggle Mart (but that kind of sounds like its a grocery store) Wizards R Us, The Wizarding World store, All Things Magical. I dont know if any of those are any good.

The book Emerson/Ben/etc. wrote was PREDICTIONS and stuff NOT an encyclopedia... The Mugglenet book was there OPINIONS on what would happen in book 7 and thus, there work. The Lexicon book doesn't have any opinions. It's just a book about who does what in HP's world. And for anyone who still sees it as unfair that they are getting sued: It's JK ROWLING'S BOOK. She THOUGHT up this stuff NOT HP Lexicon. They only wrote what she had already dreamed up in paragraph format. NONE of there own opinions were involved or anything, JUST WHAT SHE HAD ALREADY EXPRESSED. The way I see it is: Any fan has every right to dedicate as much time as they want to write stuff on the iinternet for people to view for free BUT no fan has the right to write about the books so they can sell it for there own gain. And if you've read, jkr can't be doing this for a profit BECAUSE all the money from the court case AND the encyclopedia she wanted to make are GOING TO CHARITY... Go to Leaky. They have this whole case up in incredible detail in a news article. Read the whole thing before you make up your mind. Warner bros. contacted lexicon about five times before they tried to sue.
