well im not REALLY making a store like this, i just have to come up with an idea for a busniesss and act like its real and figure out everything that would involve my busienss. and i would prolly have to figure out advertising and marketing and what not. If i do become and entrepreneur i would be an awesome business to start, but im not sure if that;s what i want to do yet.. ugh taklin about the future is scary. lol

April, Harry had his soul and a piece of voldy's soul in him when he went into the forest to face Voldy. When Voldy casted Avedra Kedvra on Harry, Voldy killed the piece of his soul in Harry and Harry's blood in Voldy saved Harry from dying. That is why they were both knocked to the ground and both lived. the piece of soul from the other saved them, but that connection was destroyed. And becuz harry willing scarificed himself for the rest of the wizarding world, they were all protected by the same charm that Lily set up Harry when she died for him. That is why Harry could be Cruicioed and not feel it and the spells werent hurting the other members of the Order.

Just for anyone who is uneducated: Publishing a book that contains copyright information that does not belong to the author or publishers is illegal. What the Lexicon is doing is making money off of Jo's work, as is stated in the article. Anyone who tries to parallel what the Lexicon is doing and what Mugglenet did should stop and think. Mugglenet published a book on theories - what they thought might happen in the seventh book. It wasn't a companion book, nor did it take all the information we have received from Jo or any other official sources and produce a reference for the author's work (regardless of it being "official" or "unofficial").

Well, I guess I shouldn't go ahead with the encyclopedia I was planning.... Mine was going to be analytical, not like I'm writing with her knowledge, just as someone analizing the serties.... Anyway, I think I'll just sratch the idea. This suggests something important, though. She probably wouldn't sue over this issue if she had no plans to write the encyclopedia herself. Looks like she plans to write it! Yeah.

On the one hand , I kind of find it petty of JK Rowling to sue these guys about their book. Couldn't she just have been like: "Hey... please don't publish that?" But apparently not... But not to talk down to my favourite writer ever! These guys from the Lexicon site... why didn't they just ask Jo's permission to make the encyclopedia... and possibly work WITH her to make it. That way, everything would be canon, and it would have been awesome. Also... does this mean she is not making an encyclopedia about the Harry Potter Universe? Because I really hope she does. No sure why the guys at Lexicon didn't just ask Jo's permission... but... whatever I guess.

Why do they feel the need to publish the encyclopedia anyway? We've got the site, that's all we need. Yeah, sorry, but I'm with Jo on this one. If I were her, I'd be flattered, sure, but I'd still feel a little possessive of the series and the characters, quite honestly. They are, after all, a big part of her life.

I have a question, in my library of all things Potter, I have a book called "The Harry Potter Companion" by Acascias Riphouse. Why have I not heard about a lawsuit involving this book/author?

Wow, I think she is being kind of petty. The lexicon only posts known facts about the book. I mean she even awarded it on her sight. First she sues that Indian community for a Hogwarts display and now she is suing the Lexicon. Who knows maybe she'll sue Emerson next for Mugglenet. And other people have written and published books and guides about Harry Potter, why is this so different?

Personally, I think Jo is perfectly justified in doing this. If I were going to release an encyclopedia about an entire book series I created, I wouldn't want someone else to do the same thing, let alone without my permission. And to anyone who says she's "in it for the money" or anything like that: have you been living in a cave? Jo's donated to countless charities, she's the spokesperson for a charity, and I'm pretty sure she started her own (either that or she funds it). When she adopted a dog, she gave a personal one thousand dollar check to the shelter. For years she's auctioned off her books for charity, and she's doing the same thing with "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." Does that sound like she just wants money?

Gah, I am SO annoyed after reading some of the comments people have made against JKR. She has EVERY right to sue for this. To all of those people who keep calling her greedy or money-minded, you seem to have this completely backwards! It is this STEVE person who is selling HER work in order to make money for himself. If his sole intention was just to provide a nice source of HP information for the fans, he has his website for that- a website Jo has endorsed. Instead, he is attempting to make money by publishing a book that basically just recycles JKR's ideas/characters/world. Also, this is a clear case of plagarism (which is illegal, btw... this person is breaking the law here), as JKR has ALREADY published Fantastic Beasts... and Quidditch Through the Ages, which present aspects of the HP world in a textbook/encyclopedic-typ e manner. Add in the fact that Jo has said many times that she intends to publish a full encylopedia of the HP world (for which the money would go to CHARITY, not her own pockets as is the case for Steve's book), and it's pretty obvious that this guy is stealing her work for his own profit. I assume that a lot of the people claiming Jo is doing this to be mean or whatever are young or something, and don't understand what plagarism is. In that case, let me present this example to you: If you worked really really hard and wrote an essay for school, and then one of your classmates took your paper and rewrote it and turned it in as their own work, they would obviously be cheating, right? Getting a grade which they don't deserve, because they handed in work that wasn't their own? This is the same thing, people. This guy is taking her work, re-formating it, and trying to make money off of it. It's cheating, stealing... and I commend JKR for having the guts to stand up to them. I'm sure it's been very hard for her. It reminds me of this line: "It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends....
